"And why should we believe you?" I asked him, a hand placed on my hip. Jagger was sitting in a chair, looking up at me as Kratos and Shadow stood on both sides of me.

"Because I'm telling you the truth! Why would I bother to come all the way over here if I wasn't serious about this?"

" I don't know. You tell us," Kratos said while folding his arms across his chest. I couldn't help but notice that his muscle began to bulge out from his arm, but I shook the thought off and refocused.

" I'll be honest with you. I don't want to trust you. I really don't," I said.

" And you shouldn't," Kratos added in, glaring at me.

Shadow sighed. "So what you're telling me is that you're working for someone who has interest in KL?"

"Yes."

" For what?"

" Her power of course."

"Who is this person?" Asked Shadow.

" That's classified information. I can't say-" And without hesitation, Kratos lunged at him and grabbed him by his throat. "You listen here you punk. You get out of here and you leave. Don't say another word. And if I ever, ever see you come back here again do not think that I will have mercy upon you. Especially after what you did to Seth. Did you not even think how it was going to affect KL?" Kratos was nearly spitting these words into Jagger's face, and I was surprised to see that Jagger hadn't retaliated.

"Kratos-" said Shadow who was trying to intervene.

Instead of listening, he forcefully dragged Jagger's drenched jacket and Jagger followed. I chased after them, as Kratos made his way to the entrance. He literally pushed Jagger out the door. Jagger turned around and locked eyes with me, his emeralds filled with sorrow. "I tried KL. I'm sorry about everything."

With that, Kratos shut the door in his face and locked it. He turned around and locked eyes with me. 'I know that look. Don't feel bad for him KL. He's a liar. That's all he was trained to do." I followed him as he turned around, but we were both stopped by Shadow's body. His lips were pursed in seriousness, an almost coldness lacing his irises. He glared at Kratos.

" I did what had to be done. If you weren't going to protect them, then I will," Kratos said.

" You just made me lose valuable information."

"You just invited a dangerous man into our house. What would've happened if he would've attacked us as soon as you invited him in? What if he would've hurt us, you, anyone? What then?"

" It wouldn't have gotten to that extent," Shadow replied sternly.

"Yeah, well did you know that he killed KL's best friend on the way back here?"

Suddenly, it felt as though someone had just forcefully punched me in the gut. All of the memories flooded through my head, causing a numbing sensation which paralyzed me. The realization finally had dawned upon me: Seth was gone. How could Kratos even have the nerve to speak about this so bluntly?

Kratos continued, "No, you wouldn't because you weren't there. How do you think she feels to see the man who murdered her best friend? How could you not listen to me when I told you he was bad news? How could you trust a stranger's word over mine?" For the first time, I had finally seen a genuine hurt coming out of Kratos. He sounded like he was on the brink of either screaming or just breaking down and crying.

Shadow stood there, staring at Kratos with the same expression he had given him from before.

"But you wouldn't understand," Kratos said, his voice lighter and sorrow filled, "because all you wanted was his information. You didn't even think about the consequences."Kratos seemed deeply disappointed with Shadow, in a way in which a father would be ashamed with a child. It was funny to see how the roles reversed.
