Chapter 11: Blast From The Past

A Month Later

"Peeeeeeeta. I don't want to go into H&M... again" I groan as he drags me towards the store

"Oh come on! They've got really nice jeans in there and they're on sale" he replies making me roll my eyes as we enter the store, we've just started spring break and all of the good Winter clothing is on sale which Peeta saw as an opportunity and suddenly thinks that I wanted to be dragged around the shop, I have no idea why he thinks that but after a few kisses he convinced me to come with him and so here we are today... shopping for men's jeans

"White or black?" Peeta suggests

"Both... black makes you look sexy and white goes with the things you wear" I reply and he chuckles

"Hey they were both $68.50 and are now $20.40.... wow.... that's really low" he admits and I smile, he gets his size and once they're paid for we walk out of the store

"Katnip?" I freeze, I know that voice from anywhere....

"Gale!" I squeal, I let go of Peeta's hand and run up to hug him, I don't realise we've been hugging for a while till Peeta clears his throat which is when I break away from it

"What are you doing here?! Your a long way from where you live" I smile and he does too

"I've moved. I'm moving here, my parents wanted me to be in a privet school and so we moved her where the best privet school is" he explains

"I heard about your family.... I never got to see you after it happened...." he sadly adds and I give him a sad smile

"I'm fine now. I had depression for quite a while but Peeta..." I grab Peeta's hand

"Brought me out of it. He's my boyfriend" I reply which makes Peeta smile brightly at me but give Gale cautious looks

"That's so great to hear. I hear that Madge moved here as well not too long ago" Gale says, oh my god... not again... he's loved Madge practically before we even went to school, he does anything if she asks and when she's not around all he ever does is talk about her but Madge is hard to earn a males trust from

"She did. Have you seen her yet?" I smirk

"Uh... no, why has she asked for me or about me?" He asks making me laugh

"Oh my god Gale" I giggle making him chuckle, I then remember that Peeta and I are going on our lunch date

"It was nice seeing you but Peeta and I have a lunch date. I'll see you around" I smile, we exchange numbers then leave after we give each other one last hug before we part ways, Peeta is quiet the entire time we're out but I don't understand why.

"So. Katnip has a boyfriend huh?" Gale smirks making me roll my eyes as we walk around the park

"Oh shut up. Don't you start teasing by making kissing noises cause you know that I'll take you down in a second" I warn him

"Damn. I was gonna do exactly that. How long have you two been dating?" He asks

"Three months in two days" I answer

"Hmm. Nice work... he's a good looking guy. What's he like?" He asks making me raise an eyebrow at him

"Hey! I wanna know the guy that's dating my best friend more" he defends

"Fine. He's polite, sweet, kind, puts himself first, there's a lot more but we'll be here all day" I reply

"He sounds just like the guy that you wanted" he says

"I know but he does have his flaws. He moves around a lot in his sleep, he snores a little, he plays a song he loves on repeat which annoys me, he does this cricket noise that was cool to start with but he does it so much that it annoys me to the core" I explain making Gale chuckle

"Have you guys said the 'L' word yet?" He asks which I blush at

"Yeah... he said it first and now we say it here and there. Not all the time" I smile

"Wow. You've come a long way" he admits

"Yeah... but I'm still on antidepressants just so I don't do anything stupid again..." I reply and for the rest of the day we walk around and just catch up with each other, I'm so happy that I've got my two best friends with me now.
