Not to long after that their boss left so did Frank, he left to go search for Gunnar, he left Dallas behind and walked around to the back of the building. He knew that Gunnar wasn't the one that liked walking in the street where it was open and people were crowding him. He walked down the alleyway and heard a garbage can being toppled over, he ran around and found Gunnar sitting on a trashcan lid with his arms around hi knees. Frank stared at him for a moment until he looked up at him, he jolted a bit when he saw him but he didn't fall off the trashcan, even if it did wobble from side to side.

"It's okay, it's just me..." Frank said as he put his hands out and Gunnar watched him before put his head back down.

"What do you say we go get you something to eat, I can heard your stomach from here." Frank said as Gunnar got up and walked over to him before they made their way out of the alleyway. Gunnar stayed close to Frank as they made their way through the city and to a local dinner on a street corner. It was small but had a good reputation with the community. Frank held the door for his little friend and the fallowed him to a booth since the dinner wasn't that busy for the moment.

A waitress smiled at them and and gave Frank a questioning look as if to ask if he wanted his regular meal. He returned a nod and held up two fingers before giving her a smile as she disappeared into the kitchen. He looked back down to see Gunnar looking at him then looking to where the lady had disappeared to, kneeling on the seat to see over the back.

"Who was she?" He asked as he sat back down in his spot.

"That's my sweetheart. She knows my order because I come here so much when she works here." Frank told him with a sweet tone of voice as he looked at the food window and caught a glimpse of her.

"You come here because the food's good?" Gunnar asked as he looked around the table before he started looking through the sugar and salt packets.

"Well yeah the food's good but I come here so I can see her, she's a very busy woman, you know." Frank said as he regained Gunnar's attention.

"Why's that, what makes her so special compared to any other lady that's walking outside right now." Gunnar said as they looked out the window next to them and found a group of women walking with arms full of grocery bags and a few with a toddler bouncing on their hips.

"Because this lady said that she'd marry me and we have a family now. She's a very special lady to me, she can cook and does her best at everything she does. That's why I love her, she's a great person with a good heart." Frank said as she walked over with a pray of food and two drinks. She placed a plate in front of Gunnar and then one in front of Frank, both of them had a club sandwich with fires on the side. She then put a cup of coffee next to Frank and a tall glass of milk next to Gunnar.

"I took a guess on the milk, you still got a lot of growing to do." She said with a warm tone as she then ruffled Frank's hair and then went back to work. Frank smiled at her as she walked away.

Frank remembered what Gunnar meant and nodded.

"Yeah I know you're a heartless bull headed kid, I took care of ya, I was there." Frank said as he chuckled at his memories of a Gunnar that didn't tower over him like a giant.

"But you know even the strongest of us have someone that we want to protect. I have my sweetheart, Ginny, with our son, daughter in law and our grand child. I may not seem like I care for people but sometimes we don't know that we care for someone until their gone and there's nothing we can do to help them anymore. Those are the people who look the strongest but in the end become the weakest, we just have to wait to see it." Frank said as he looked up at the tall boy.
