As the days went on Tino had been given a new name. The family that had him decided to name their new child after many names being tossed around. Sylvie, Sophia, Samantha, Sabrina... along with the names that had pasted around were the forgotten names they had thought of for a son. Alphonse, Maximilian, Sebastian, Stephen... These would fade as well as the name Tino. The family would not raise a daughter but train their child to be one. So with that training ahead of her, the child was given the name Samantha Isabelle Moors.
Her mother was thrilled to have a daughter to call her own. She had been a woman that came from a small family where she had been the only child. Samantha had a large family already. She had a sister that had already passed on, she resembled her current state at the moment. She too had been to small to survive. But the doctors and nurses were convinced to make sure that this time the family would bring home a daughter. The first child this married couple had had together had been that little who did not make it. Ever since then they had had many children, all of them sons. Samantha had five older brothers watching over her at the end of the day. Joe was the oldest fallowed by Ron, James and Oliver. They were all excited about the baby and hopeful for another brother. But when they heard from their father that they had a sister that was very small and very sick. They just all looked at each other and seemed to understand one thing. That they couldn't be rough with her and that they needed to make sure that she was safe. The brothers took up the stereotypical role of being the older brother that takes care of the little frail sister.
But as the weeks went on Samantha was getting better but she was still unstable to be given a clear to be sent home. Nurses encouraged the small infant to fight and that she would win and be strong enough to be sent home. But this fell on deaf ears there was still a strong part of Tino that was in this small body that he was growing to pity. He had never had a form that was like this before. He heard his new parents speaking about their daughter's future and his brothers speaking about how they were going to protect her through everything from elementary and high school and when she would start dating. Tino's heart sank, a part of him knew that Gunnar's soul was still out there, he wasn't sure if he was born again or still waiting for a chance. But he knew that Gunnar and the rest of them were out there. But he was here and there was nothing he could do now but try and live. So with that Tino allowed his small last memories to be hidden away for now and allow himself to focus on getting better so Samantha go home.
After about a month or so in the hospital the girl's parents were given the all clear to bring her home. She was healthy and as far as they were concerned she did not have any health issues that they could make out for now. Her brothers crowded around the infant as they saw her for the first time coming home. They sat there on the couch with protective arms around her for the rest of the day until their mother dragged them to the table and she took Samantha up stairs to be fed, changed and put to bed for now.
At age two the parents noticed something about their daughter that they found odd. She had trouble seeing things around her. It was her brother Joe that suggested that they go and see if she needed glasses. It turned out that she did, her right eye was beginning to wonder thus the optometrist told them it was a lazy eye and that she would need glasses if they didn't fix it now. He gave them a pink eye patch to place over her left eye to give the right one a chance to get stronger. Her father tried putting the patch on her as soon as they got home but he couldn't do it. She kept taking it off every time he put it on her. He finally decided to use band aids to keep it there. When the children came home from school their parents went off to work and left them to take of each other. Soon after they exchanged roles for the rest of the night, Samantha heard her brothers and wanted to play with them. The boys waited for her and then their worries went off as they heard a thud and then crying.
