As the months flew by, Tino's health had improved quite a bit and he was able to keep up with his friends again. But he found himself trying to catch up to Gunnar the most, it wasn't knew to see the two together but now it was changing. Gunnar was leaving more and more to go do the same business as he had always disappeared to attend to. But Mathias and Lukas noticed that Tino was turning into a lost puppy of sorts as Gunnar left more and more. Mathias saw a lost boy with a friend and Lukas saw it as a love sick puppy. Tino was the kind of person that he would fallow Gunnar to the ends of the earth if he needed to but... Gunnar never said anything when he left, he just vanished around a corner and Tino could never catch a glimpse of where he went. Lukas noticed this when they would walk to school, he would see them laughing and talking and then he'd look back and see it. Gunnar would wait until Tino was distracted and then slip away into an alley and skip the rest of the school day. Mathias would see Tino at lunch and see his loneliness. He wanted to sit with him and get him to smile again but sports and extra credit work prevented him from doing so.

During the school week Tino was alone but when the weekends rolled around. He and Gunnar were together and he was always smiling.

But then the night came. It was a few weeks away from their senior year graduation. Prom was coming up and so were the parties and all the good times that came with them. But tonight would make and break everyone. It was a typical night when Miss Cooper brought her kids out to volunteer and do good in their community. Chase had gotten a phone call and left Tino home alone so seeing as this had happened. Gunnar convinced Miss Cooper into letting him stay home as well so they could hang out together. She agreed and as she left she looked back and saw them roughhousing together. Gunnar was letting Tino win for a little while before making it look like he was actually putting effort into fighting Tino as so he wouldn't catch on to what he was doing. She smiled as she walked out of the gate.

"I raised a good boy... " She told herself as she walked down the street with her children besides her.

'I raised amazing children.' She thought to herself as she looked at them. Mathias was strong willed and had a kind heart that would protect the people around him. Lukas was smart and had a good sense when it came to the strange things in the world around them. Berwald was great in math and sciences and could fix anything or take it apart and then put it all back together and make it work better than before. Peter was good at explaining things and had a passion for the past and current events that would make the history books of the future. Erin was an excellent English student and loved to write stories and most of all tell. Then her little Sky had a deep caring for the people around her and their well being. Then Miss Cooper thought about Gunnar. He was cold and ruthless on first glance but once his surface was broken he was loving and respectful. Yes, Miss Cooper could never find a single thing that made her children a bad person. But a mother can never see the bad in one of her children because it is impossible for her. She can only see the small child that she fell in love with and could never see them being anything else but that. Kind, sweet and innocence.

Gunnar and Tino fooled around for a while until Gunnar heard their phone ring. He quickly ran inside and answered. Tino sat outside and couldn't really hear what Gunnar was saying just that he sounded a bit different. He kept his voice low as so Tino wouldn't hear him. Frank had called him and he had bad news. All gang members were to get down town. Now, with weapons ready for a fire fight. The wars were starting tonight. Gunnar told him he'd be there and it wouldn't be long for him to show. So with that he hung up the phone and went to his bedroom. He took a box out from under his bed and took out a revolver with some spare ammunition. He checked to see if it was still loaded and then stuck the rounds into his coat pocket. He then zipped up his leather jacket and walked out of his room before going into Miss Cooper's room. He remembered her taking his knife when he started living here and he knew where she hid it. He knew where almost everything was around the house but he never said anything about it because he didn't want anyone to know that he knew. But he needed his knife, tonight he needed everything he could get.
