As Gunnar made his way down to the parking garage his men fallowed him. They made a sort of shield around him, they were aware of the activity outside and were as ready as he was to face it and go down with a fight. They were his most loyal followers and he knew he could trust them and as they stepped outside the police came out with guns drawn. But the gang drew arms as well and met their threat with a fire fight.
The huntsman heard Granny and Red screaming while he was cutting timber in the forest nearby...
"Gunnar Cooper put your hands in the air, you're under arrest!" Mathias yelled out as they moved in returning fire and ducking for cover from the gang's bullets.
"We both know that your not taking me in alive. We both know you wanna be the one that takes that shot Mathias... Or should I say brother, yeah brother, that make you wanna do it now?" Gunnar said with a laugh as Mathias's team mates looked at him as they saw him get ticked off. But they were more worried about the fact that these two were brothers and that Mathias hadn't said anything about it at all. They hadn't known Gunnar's last name since it was never disclosed by anyone who had ever worked for him in the past... Manly since no one had lived long enough to tell the police his full name. For good reason because Gunnar wouldn't let anyone live that long so that they would become a threat to him. This made them shake in their boots a bit. If Gunnar had actually admitted to all of them that he and Mathias were brothers... This probably meant that he was confident enough that the police would all be dead in a short while.
...He went up to the house and found the wolf there his belly full and unable to move due to the feast he had indulged in...
"If you don't comply with us we'll be forced to do so." An officer yelled over a loud speaker of his car only to have a response that was very clear. His car became the target, it was bombarded by semi automatic machine guns. The police task force realized that they had thought well when it came to bringing in heavy artillery.
The fight went on until the gang was able to get Gunnar into a car and that started a race down the city streets as fire was still exchanged.
...The huntsman quickly saw what the wolf had done...
What the gang hadn't known was that the police had set up road blocks and put spikes on the road to slash the tires of their get away car. This had been in case they did have the intention of fleeing. As they fled they gained speed quite quickly and by the time that the driver saw the obstacle in front of him... It was too late to do anything about it. He tried to slam on the breaks but the car spiraled out of control and flipped onto it's side as the passengers who had no seat belt were tossed around like rag dolls. Gunnar was ejected from the car and landed on broken glass and ash fault.
...He took his ax and sliced the wolf's belly wide open...
As the gun fire never seemed to stop Gunnar was being hit over and over again by stray bullets that came from the vehicles that he knew his brother was currently riding in. He felt blood seeping through his clothes and running down his skin. It was warm but at the moment Gunnar was himself far from feeling warm at all. He was cold and tired. His body was shutting down on him as he tried to crawl away from the wreak. His thoughts would have been racing if he didn't know that something was waiting for him on the other side of this tired spell.
Gunnar reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a picture, it's prime long since pasted as it had been bent, crinkled and mended by shaken hands many times over again. The color was faded by time and tears but the image was still clear to see. A pair of smiling faces on a summer day. He held it as he tried to get a look at them through his now cracked glasses. Through clouded vision he made out the one person he had done this for, the person he had tried to make everything right for in the end. Tino, Tino had been the person he carried with him everywhere he went. To remind himself of the cause he had made for himself and as a constant reminder that he was the one to blame for his friend's death. Because of that he had never let himself get so close to another person ever again. Tino had been the only one to have kept a hold on his heart, even in death... So that's why he had keep the picture over his heart so that he would never forget that feeling that Tino helped him find there. A heart that been once made of ice had been melted relieving something warm and tender but then turned to stone after a ache had settled there.
