Drew stared at my chow mein with his face scrunched in disgust, I slurped the noodles into my mouth and rolled my eyes at him.
"Stop looking at it if you don't like it."
His nose wrinkled even more.
"If I could I would, but its so sickening I can't look away. How can you stomach that?"
I quirked an eyebrow and rolled more noodles onto my fork, slurping them up slowly while rolling my eyes in my head as if it were the most delicious thing on the planet. I gave him a satisfied look when I opened my eyes.
"Just like that."
A hint of a smirk was on his face.
"When you eat it like that you make it look appetizing."
I popped a piece of orange chicken in my mouth, ignoring his comment.
"What is so great about fried rice anyways?"
He grinned.
"I thought you'd never ask; first off it is guarenteed to fill you up when they are stingy with the sides, and second it doesn't feel like maggets are wiggling around in your mouth."
My face flattened as I looked at him.
"Please don't ruin this meal for me, I'm actually enjoying it."
He chuckled and took a few mouthfuls of his shrimp.
"Which one of your parents do you take after?"
I nearly choked on my food and dropped my fork, I quickly slurped down some of my sprite and set it down.
"I'm sorry what?"
The question caught me off guard and the seriousness in his voice threw me off.
He raised an eyebrow.
"I know we're eating at a chinese restaurant but I don't think I'm speaking a different language."
I eyed him warily.
"Why did you just ask me that out of the blue?"
He drank down some of his soda before answering.
"It sort just popped into my head, I mean I've picked up on your stand off-ish persona and it makes me wonder where you get it."
I hardly thought I was stand off-ish, I just wasn't the easiest person to get along with when I didn't want to. He composed an image for me to stray from when he forced me on a date with him Tuesday.
"I only come off that way toward you, and I can tell you I don't get it from my mom."
A frown flitted on his features.
"Why only toward me?"
I shrugged and took a few more bites.
"Could be that you're an ass and forced me on not, one but two dates, or it could be the fact that you are the most arrogant person on the planet. Pretty much a combination of both."
He put a hand to his heart in mock anguish.
"Andy you hurt me, I am not an ass."
I laughed through my nose.
"Right, don't deny the other insults."
He smirked and polished off the remainder of his plate.
"They are pretty accurate and I have no desire to deny them, but the ass thing, that's just rude."
"Why?"
His thick brows furrowed.
"Well, it's the part of the body you dump out of and release rancid gasses so it's basically the worst part. I guess it could be a positive, since its pretty fun to grab and look at and-"
