Drew pov.
I had to say it was fucking hilarious to see a drunk Andy while I was sober. I'd seen her drunk at my party but I was pretty faded myself, so instead of everything being funny like it truly was, it was sexy. But not now, no this was almost comical.
"You know what?" She slurred to me from her bar stool, tossing back the last shot of her Heinekin.
I rested my chin in my palm, eyeing her with nothing but amusement. "No what?"
Her drooping eyes rolled over to me, "I like drinking! I-I don't even know why I never tried it before, it's pretty ding darn dandy." She sniggered before busting out into a full laugh.
My bartender friend, Nathan, arched an eyebrow in my direction clearly wondering if he should cut my faded friend off for the day. I nodded to him and let him know that she was most definitely done. She really was the definition of a light weight, a shot of Hypnotic and Hennesey, and a beer and a half later she was down for the count. I think in the two hours we'd been at The Cabana I'd belly out laughed at her a total of ten times. Usually I would get wasted with a friend who was in distress, but I had to drive and frankly she was far more entertaining than liquor.
"I think it's official now Andy, you are wasted." I smirked, sliding her empty beer bottle to Nathan as he passed to serve another customer. Originally the Heinekin was mine but she insisted on polishing off the last half of it because I was drinking it too slow.
Andy waved me off with a loose wrist and tried to look me seriously in the eye. "Let me tell you something Kessler, I could throw down every single drink in this place and still not be done. You got that?"
I held my hands up in surrender and chuckled at her, she was even bossier as a drunk than sober. "Whatever you say Phelps."
"That's right," she garbled slamming her fist down on the bar, "now be a good boy and hand over that Bourbon."
I figured it wouldn't do much harm for her to slug down my Bourbon on the rocks since it would be her last drink of the night. So obeying her command I picked up the glass and handed it over to her.
"Thank you very much." And like an alcoholic that I feared she might me be after today, she chugged it all down in five seconds.
Despite her intoxication she still made a brutal sour face and grunted against the taste after she swallowed it. Damn, she must have been more upset about the events of this day than I thought, it was obvious on the drive here that she was torn up about it, but I hadn't known it was to this extent. However I vowed to be a distraction to her and possibly make her feel better if only temporarily, and that started with getting her wasted as requested. I wondered how things were going with Colby and Jemma, I hoped she would accept his apology. Getting caught up was one thing he dealt with on a regular basis but one thing he hadn't had happen yet, was losing someone he cared about.
Colby wasn't typically the type to let his feelings get involved with girls, especially not ones he was casually sleeping with. But Jemma was a game changer for him, that much I knew from how possesive and protective over her he was. Not to mention the fact that she was the only girl he openly talked about without being asked. He actually cared for her and it would be a shitty thing if he lost that.
As for Andy's part in it all, I commended her for keeping the situation a secret. Partly because it protected Colby but mostly because it was a respectable thing to do, it really wasn't her place to say and it showed that she loved her friends. I understood her reasoning in not wanting to be the one to hurt their feelings. Granted it backfired big time it was noble all the same.
The sun was beginning to set and that was my cue to get Andy out of here instead of risking getting her arrested for public intoxication. More importantly it would be bad if the both of us were caught for under-aged drinking and getting Nathan fired and locked up for soliciting to minors.
