I went into my favorite coffee shop on a cold September morning. I was greeted by Nicole, my best friend, more like the sister I never had. "Hey Jamie what would it be for you today?"
"I'll have the usual please" "alright, one white chocolate mocha frappuccino coming up. So did you hear about who's in town?" "no who? *gasps* Harry Styles?"
"Girl no, I wish, famous Mexican boxer Saul "Canelo" Alvarez" "oh doesn't ring a bell, who's that?" "A total Mexican hottie" "show me a picture"
Nicole pulled out her phone and showed me a picture. "Oh wow he is a total hottie" "right that's what I'm saying. I heard he's in town training at the Sky High place for this big boxing match he has coming up. You should go and meet him I also heard he's single I would go but I have Matthew and that's all I need" she smiled.
"really now....?" I said in a intrigued/questioning way. "Well that's cool but I won't be going there anytime soon, I'm too shy plus I don't need a man to keep me happy, I'm fine the way I am right now, thank you though"
"oh yes you are I'm taking you there this afternoon after my shift so go and get ready because you're meeting him today. You really need this also girl I can see the loneliness in your eyes when we go to places and you see other couples being all cute and happy" "but I'm scared"
"Don't be he's really sweet" "how do you know?" "Because I met him. He came in the other day to get some coffee for him and his entourage and he was so down to earth and super chill and just really sweet"
"really? I would think a boxer would be all mean and aggressive?" "nope, that's just a stigma he's the total opposite of that" "hmmm I don't know.. I'm just really shy like I said" "Jamie it's okay I promise you won't regret it" ".....okay fine"

At around 4:30 I left the coffee shop to go back to my apartment and chill but of course Nicole had to tag along and make me get ready to go meet this guy. Like since when did she become the "match-making guru"?
I took a shower and picked out an outfit. Nicole did my hair and makeup. "Literally I don't want to do this, all I want to do is lay in bed with a tub of strawberry ice cream and watch some TV. I don't want to go meet some guy that I've barely found out about" "too bad we're going okay... and we're done with your hair so let's get going"
In the car I connected my phone so I could be the DJ. "I need to get my vibe going before we get this train wreck started" "okay you need to get laid because you're mad trippin'. I'm sure you'll have a great time, and honestly I hope you end up in his bed tonight"
"oh my god Nicole their is no way that is happening tonight" "okay whatever you say.." I playfully rolled my eyes.
I started singing to the song that came on. "would you believe if I said I'm in love baby I want you to want me" "that's what you're going to be saying to him" I winked at her.
It didn't take long for us to get to the Sky High Training facility where he was training.
Nicole parked the car next to a white Lamborghini. "I wonder who it belongs to?" "No clue but that car is as the rappers would say "winter time cold" We both laughed and got out of the car.
Nicole was the one that spoke with the front desk lady "hi we're here to see Saul Alvarez" "what's your name?" "Nicole Ambrosio" she typed it in on her computer "I'm sorry but you don't have an appointment to see him" "it's okay I don't need one can you tell him that Nicole Ambrosio, the girl from the coffee shop is here to see him please"
"I can try but I doubt he will let you in". While the lady called somewhere Nicole was touching up my make up and getting me ready to meet him as if he was royalty or something. "Just act normal it's no big deal, he is super chill"
"yeah easy for you to say since you're not an introvert like me" "and this is exactly why we're doing this, I want you to break out of that shy/awkward phase and explore more"
We were interrupted by the front desk woman. "excuse me miss, all has been cleared and you can go ahead and go in. He is in gym number b1225" "okay thank you so much"
I followed Nicole down the hall. I was super nervous, not sure why since I didn't know him and he didn't know me but when I say I'm shy, I really am. I honestly don't know why but I was ever since I could remember.
She held the door opened for me and as soon as I walked in she shut it right behind me. I turned around and saw her mouthing something like "goodluck"
My eyes went wide and I began to panic a bit. I didn't want to meet him alone, like what was I gonna say? I swiftly turned around and saw all eyes on me.
I shyly raised my hand and waved hi to everyone. "Hiiiiii. Umm I'm here to see Saul Alvarez?" ..... "that would be me"
I saw a red headed guy that was wearing all black Under Armour clothing with a big green "CA" logo on the front of his shirt and green boxing gloves getting out of the ring coming towards me.
All I can say is that my heart rate was through the roof and I wasn't sure what I was going to do or say to him next.
