As he helped me out of the car I could hear waves. I had an idea as to where we were but I didn't wanna spoil the surprise so I kept quiet.
He told me to remove my heels and I did as I was told. He lightly put this hands around my waist and guided me. "Watch your step, their is a wood log and I don't want you to fall" "as long as you hold me I won't fall" I giggled. My feet came in contact with sand.
He took the blindfold off and revealed a rose petal trail leading to a cozy little gazebo with candles and flowers surrounding it. It was the most romantic thing ever.
"so here it is what do you think?" I was in aww. "Saul this is perfect, more than perfect.." I paused. "no one has ever gone to the extremes to make a date so romantic for me, this right here is everything" "Jamie you deserve this and more, all your past exes are fools for not putting in effort. A real women deserve to be treated like the queen she is"
I blushed at his words.
He led me to the table and took out the chair for me. "So I hope you're hungry, I got a 5 course meal planned out for us" "I'm actually starving so let's eat" We talked for a while enjoying the ambience and the food.
Now it was time for dessert. "Jamie I've been wanting to tell you this but I just couldn't get the confidence to. Ever since I saw you it was love at first sight. I never felt anything like what I felt when I saw you. Yeah I stopped believing in that awhile back because of my failed relationships but with you it's an unexplainable feeling. Every time I see those beautiful brown eyes of yours I feel a spark and you make me feel different, better. I want to ask you something" I stayed quiet and looked at him to continue. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
I got teary eyed. I turned my head to the side and looked at the ocean and then back at him "yes, yes I will be your girlfriend" When I said that his eyes lit up and out of know where pulled out a bouquet of roses. "These are for you and with this champagne I want to make a toast to our new relationship"
The glasses touched and made that "cling" sound. We took a sip as we looked into each other's eyes.
After dinner we took a walk on the beach. "Thank you for accepting to be my girlfriend. I was planning on this for awhile and I was afraid that you would reject me"
"No, why would you think that?" "I don't know I just knew you've been really hurt before and I wasn't sure if you were going to be ready to be in a relationship" I stopped and turned to look at him, grabbing his hands in mine.
"Truth is ever since Nicole showed me a picture of you I thought you were extremely attractive but that besides the point" I laughed and so did he. "what made me like you even more was the fact that you listened and you cared. When I opened up to you it felt right, I felt comfort in sharing my secrets with you. Most importantly you brought back the confidence I lost with my failed relationships. I haven't felt this confident before but you, you make me feel like I can take over the world by myself, like I'm invincible and that's why I said yes"
There was silence as he looked into my eyes and as I looked into his. The moonlight shined across the ocean making the water glisten. All you could hear was the water moving calmly. He lifted his hands and cupped my face.
"I know your deepest secrets and I know what you've been through. I want you to know that you can trust me with anything. We're in this relationship now and we're in this together. I want you to remember that no matter what happens I will always be here for you and I will always care and protect you, you are mine and only mine"
I laid my head on his chest and hugged him tightly. As my head rested on his chest I looked into the ocean, it was therapeutic to me. "this is breathtaking" "just like you" I blushed. "Wanna go in?" "Right now? like in these clothes?" "Yeah why not?" he smiled. "okay fine" he held his hand out for me and I gladly accepted it.
We raced into the water holding each other's hands. We swam under the moonlight. I wrapped my legs around him and looked into his eyes as if we could read any signs of doubt in his mind, but I couldn't. All I could see was lust. I could tell he wanted to passionately kiss but I was scared so I leaned in and kissed his cheek and laid my head on his shoulder.
Tonight I felt different. Something that I hadn't felt in a long time. I felt safe. I felt secure. I felt loved, but most importantly I felt needed. Saul had my heart in the palm of his hands and it felt right. Tonight was a night to remember forever.
