Jamie's POV
The next morning I woke up pretty early. I checked my phone and saw that I was still on call with Saul. I wasn't sure if he was awake so I took my phone with me and went to brush my teeth and then went to the kitchen to have my morning Ensure.
I muted my phone while making all the noise I was making so I wouldn't disturb him. After finishing my ensure I went back to my room and changed into some workout clothes for my small morning run.
Morning runs were the best, therapeutic if you will. I quickly headed out the door and was hit by some really nice weather. I connected my headphones to my phone and unmuted the call.
Walking back to my apartment he finally spoke. "Are you okay?" "Yeah why?" "I hear heavy breathing" I laughed. "Yeah because you take my breath away" then he laughed. "Oh yeah? Is that so?" "Hmmhm lol, I went on a small morning run" "are you allowed to be doing that Jamie" he said with concern in his voice. "Um.. I guess not really but I promise I'm not doing it for weight reasons, I just enjoy morning runs" we stayed silent for a bit before I spoke up.
"You know what I've been wanting to try?" "What?" "An ice bath like the ones you do" "really? Just because or is their a reason?" "Just because" "okay well do you want to try it today?" "Yes please!" He laughed at my enthusiasm. "Okay i'll be over in like half an hour" "okay cool see you then" "bye Jamie" "bye"
I got home and took off my workout sweater and running shoes. I was feeling a little dizzy which was probably from my prohibited run but I wasn't going to say anything. Weirdly enough I layed down on the cold hardwood floor in the living to cool off after the workout. Nicole came into the kitchen/living room area shortly after.
"Morning Jamie, you alright?" "Yeah I just went for a jog and wanted to cool off a bit and I promise it was just a therapeutic run not for weight loss" "it's okay Jai I wasn't going to comment. Do you want me to prepare you something to eat?" "No I'm good. I drank a full size ensure this morning and that's more than enough for now" "okay good well i'm going to make me some breakfast" ''alright sounds good"
I laid there with my eyes closed and my left arm on my forehead. Laying on the ground really helped to relax my back. My phone vibrated and it was a text from Saul saying he was outside my door.
"Hey Nics" "yeah" "can you open the door, Saul is here" "sure thing love". "Hey Saul come in" "hey- why is Jamie on the floor is she okay?" I spoke up. "Yeah im fine, don't worry" I sat up and he immediately rushed to my side and helped me up. I lost my balance a bit but caught myself. "Jamie are you sure you're okay? "Yeah just a little dizzy but I'm totally fine" I smiled. "No here let me pick you up so I can take you to your room" he then tried picking me up bridal style. "No, no it's fine I can walk"
I stepped in front of him and began to walk when all of a sudden he picked me up. "Saul Alvarez put me down right now in this instance" I laughed. "Hmmm, let me think about it.... no" I saw Nicole turn the stove off, and grab her purse from the counter, real quick. "Ummm I got... I got something to do... yeah... I just remembered....I think it's a doctor's appointment or maybe a dentist, anyways gotta blast BAI!" she ran to the door, almost tripping and practically slammed it. Me and Saul looked at each other and laughed.
He took me to my bedroom and laid me on my bed. "Okay first things first I'm going to give you some aspirin for the headache that's coming you your way" "thank you"
"are you sure you still want to do this?" "Yeah I'm sure. I'm super excited" "alright let's go" I was standing by the bathtub in my sports bra and compression shorts as I waited for him with the water running. He went down to his car to get buckets of ice.
He poured the ice into the tub and then instructed me to get in. He held my hand and I put one foot in and it was obviously cold af. I shivered and put the other foot in. You could see the goosebumps cover my whole body. "Okay, now sit down slowly and then try to lay down" "oh my... okay i'll try"
