Emmah's POV

I give him an opened mouth stare as he waits for a reply. He still has a hopeful smile on his face even though I'm just staring at him."Well?" He asks me. "uh, yeah." is all I say as a smile breaks through my ugly staring face. "great!" he tells me excitedly with a beautiful coming to his face. "Hey guys," an expressionless Jace says to us when he walks out of the locker room. "Are you going home with us today Alex" I ask him. "if that's alright with Jace, then yeah." replies to me. "It's hot outside, I'm baking up out here! Can we go now?" Jace whines to us. Me and Alex laugh at him as we slowly start walking to the car to leave. Alex offers to sit in the back seat with me but Jace stops him and has him sit up front with him, shooting glares at him the whole time. So Alex opens the door for me and walks to his door. The whole time in the cat I have then same ridiculous smile plastered on my face as I did this morning.

When we pull up in our drive way, we all get out and walk in the front door. Alex hold the door open for me and says,"ladies first". I blush again and walk past him inside and plop on the couch, Alex closes the door and walks towards me. Jace shoots a look at him as if to say 'back off' , and he decides to sit a little farther from me. Throughout the afternoon when we were hanging out, Alex would slowly try to inch towards me on the couch but Jace would catch him and make a point to have him stop. Jace can be very annoying at some points when it comes to me and any boy at all. I don't know what's with older brothers being so protective of their younger sister's but it's quite annoying if you ask me. After a while of just talking, Alex sadly had to go home. I walked him to the porch and he stopped me. "can I get your number, so I can text you, you know." He asks me. "uh yeah, sure." I say, then take his phone and add myself as a contact. "k, well you better get inside before Jace comes out here and beats me up so, I guess I'll see you tomorrow." He tells me."Yeah, well bye I guess." I reply. He has an internal debate whether or not he wants to do something else and decides not to so he waves bye and walks away. I stand on the porch and watch him walk down the road towards his house until I can't see him anymore. I walk back inside just to run into Jace... He raises one eyebrow at me and gestures to sit down on the couch. Great, I hate these types of talks with Jace. "So you and Alex are dating now I heard." He starts. "uhm yeah, he asked me after baseball practice today. How did you know we were dating anyways?" I ask him. "He asked me if I would be alright with it during school today. I said I would be alright with it as long as he didn't try to do anything nasty with you." He explains. This is getting awkward fast, I don't want 'the talk' from Jace right now. "Yeah, I wouldn't do that anyway even if I knew him longer." I say. "Well I should probably go and finish my homework then." I blurt out quickly. I run upstairs before Jace can stop me from leaving and run into my room. I actually do have homework so I finish that first before I just chill out. I had homework from my history class so it was fairly easy to do in a couple of minutes. I put my homework away and through my bag in the corner of my room by the door so I remember it and then I lounge across my bed. I hear Jace running up the stairs and see him burst into my room. On his face, he looks alarmed so I sit abruptly up and ask what happened. "We need to go to the hospital now." He demands. "why? What happened? is somebody hurt?" I ask him quickly. "mom and dads plane crashed, their in critical condition and might not make it." with hearing this I'm on my feet in a minute and putting on my shoes while Jace runs out to gather stuff to leave. We have our stuff and are in the car within five minutes. Jace races towards the hospital, while I cry in the passenger seat, hoping we can see them in time.
