~Author's Note~
That song up there is called "Tag You're It" By Melanie Martinez. It is my favorite song right now, so catchy. I suggest listening to it while you are reading, it goes well with this chapter.

I wake up with my head throbbing, laying on a hard, cement floor. I sit up and look around the room I am trapped in. It is empty, with only dust on the floor. There is two doors, but no windows. I run to the first door I saw and try to open it. It's locked. I try for the other door, and it opens to a closet. Inside is a crowbar.

I grab the crowbar and wedge it between the door and the frame of the locked door. I pull, and pull, with all of my might, and it finally opens cracks open. I rub my raw hands, and then open the door, making sure not to creak it, so it will not alert my kidnapper. But when I open the door, I see a figure standing in front of me.

"Zach." I muster out, my chapped lips move.

"Alex." He says.

"It's not Alex." I correct him. "It's Alexia."

"Alexia, I don't like it. You are my Alex, and always will be."

"I'm not your Alex anymore! Let me go!" I scream at him.

"This was a test." He starts. "If you really loved me, you would have stayed. But if you didn't, you would have tried to escape with the crowbar."

"What?"

"But you tried to run away. That means you don't love me."

"Well, obviously! Haven't you figured that out by now?"

Zach suddenly grabbed me and started pulling me out of the room and into a long hallway. I keep screaming a kicking for him to let me go, but he doesn't, and I instead throws me into another room. It is much like the other one, but with a chair in the center of the room. Zach pins me down on the chair and ties me up.

"You will stay hare until you learn to love me." Zach demands.

"Never! I will never love you!" I scream at him.

Zach sighs and walks out of the room, locking the door. He leaves me alone, alone with only me and my thoughts.

Alex's Pov
A week later:
Alexia has still not arrived at work. I have asked Janine if she has heard of her, but to no avail. No one has heard of Alexia for a week. I have been concerned for her, being my only girlfriend for a while...

I think of her that day at work, trapped in my thoughts. I couldn't really concentrate on my work, until I heard Alexia's name come from the tv.

"Is this really true, Barb?" A reporter asks.

"Yes Joe, it is." Barb answers. "A young girl, by the name of Alexia, has been kidnapped."

I gasp at the reporters words.

"And her neighbors tell us the details. Please, Mr. Nelson, tell us what you saw."

"I was just sitting in my kitchen, eating dinner with my wife, when I heard a scream." Mr. Nelson starts. "Both my wife and I ran out to see what was going on. We saw our other neighbor standing in front of Alexia's door, looking shocked. We ran inside and saw a man trying to kidnap Alexia. There was nothing we could do about it, because he has already jumped out the glass door."

"And you say this is what the man looks like?" Barb holds up a sketch of a man.

I gasp again, that was the man that was talking to Alexia at work! The guy I beat up!

"Yes, that looks exactly like him." Mr. Nelson proclaims. "The sketcher did a perfect job of using my descriptions to turn it into a pieces of art."

"Well, this 'piece of art' will be used to bust a criminal." Barb and Joe both laugh, but Mr. Nelson awkwardly grins, knowing this is not a funny situation.

"Speaking of criminals, it is known that this man is one of the men that escaped from prison." Barb reveals. "It says his name is Zach. Here is a photo of the man that accompanied him on escaping from prison." Barb holds up a photo of a man with a shaved head, and faces the screen. "If anyone sees either of these men, or Alexia," Barb holds up a photo of her. "Please call the police right away."

The reporter finishes her story, and then moves on to her new one. All I can do is stand there and try to hold in my panicking. Alexia got kidnapped? How?

I hear someone crying and turn around. Janine is crying in the corner, and boss is comforting her. That is honestly a sight I thought I would never see in my life.

"Wha... Wha... What if we never see her... Again?" Janine says between sobs.

"We'll find her, it'll be ok. Shhhh." Boss rubs her back soothingly.

"Bu... Bu... But she's m... M... My best friend!"

"I know, I know."

Janine continues to cry in the corner, while I stand alone near the register, alone with only me and my thoughts.
