Part 11: -

Alexis’ POV

Well, I eventually found out that Conor has organised a full family dinner for tonight. Why I couldn’t wear my normal clothes, I’ll never know. The dress wasn’t overly high class but it was high class at the same time. Although, as to why Conor took me there, I don’t know. It was quaint and quiet, yes but it was a little strange that he knew that shop existed. However, the family dinner tonight, included both our families, plus his grandparents. I have met them before but now I was seriously terrified. I’d given them their first great-grandchild. It’s a big weight on my shoulder because Lauryn is the first. The only thing I hate about the dinner tonight is the fact that the other Alexis is going to be there. Everyone’s going to get confused because of the names. Yes, everyone calls me Lexi, but Conor’s grandparents are quite keen on keeping it to my normal name. A name, I formally hate. It’s way too old fashioned for me but I keep it to keep my parents happy.

I was in the midst of putting my dress on when Lauryn began crying for attention. I couldn’t even do anything since I engulfed in the dress. I was half on, half off. It was a little awkward. Luckily, Conor came in and began helping with her. I was thankful for his help and being here right now, has made me realise that maybe I was stupid to run away, maybe I was stupid to instantly hate on him. He had his reasons for shoving me away, which are pretty evident right now. Everywhere is going crazy right now for pictures of Lauryn, the press are still stationed outside Conor’s mum’s house and it’s a little upsetting to see. Especially, since everyone is being hounded when they come in or out. Once Lauryn was content, Conor placed her back in her Moses basket for the time being.

“You know, that’d look amazing on the bedroom floor,” He whispered in my ear, as he helped zip me up.

“And you’ll look amazing in the toilet with your head down it” Helen’s voice rung out.

“Are you seriously going to cock-block us all the time when we’re alone?” Conor questioned.

“Very much so young man. You don’t know when your sister or brother could walk in so therefore I am going to be the cock-blocker of the century”

“Mum! Although, serious question time. Is gran and papa coming tonight?”

“They confirmed it with me earlier when you guys were out. Also, apologies on this one but the other Alexis is coming. Jack invited her, just so he wouldn’t be alone at the dinner table”

“Ugh, I’m swear I’m gonna end up rattling that bitch soon” I muttered.

“Babe, we heard that” Conor announced, putting his arms around my protectively.

“Great, but if she as much touches my daughter, I swear she’s going to end up six feet under” I swore ungracefully.

“Lexi, why don’t you like her so much?” Helen asked.

“It’s not so much that I don’t like her. It’s the fact that I don’t trust her. It’s just, after everything with Jack and me finding out he had feelings for me, it was just weird. It was weird as to how she wormed her way into his life, has the same name as me and is merely the same age. Our birthdays are almost identical, same month but a different day. I just feel like she’s out for blood rather than love. I feel like she’s on a mission from Braden, rather than actually having feelings for Jack. That’s my interpretation of things. Quite psychotic, I know,” I admitted freely.

“Lexi, we have thought that too. Well, all of us have, apart from Jack. He’s oblivious to our accusations, and luckily, he’s away picking up Alexis so thankfully he can’t hear this. I know you’re scared in case she is but we’ll all protect you against her if she is. You’re a part of the family now and we have a duty to protect those we love” Helen spoke.
