Chapter 19

Kiefer's POV

Babalik na sila Ly sa US in a week, ngayon pa lang namimiss ko na sila ni Cienne. Pwede naman akong bumisita sa kanila pero not as often kasi mejo hectic rin schedule ko dahil sa training. At sa tagal ng pananatili nila dito hindi ko pa nasosolo si Ly, that's why we're having dinner tonight, date kumbaga. It's not the typical kind of date that you have to eat in a resto, I find it too cliché. Gusto ko maging unique and memorable tong first date, well first date sa panibagong chapter ng buhay namin.

Alyssa: "I thought we're having dinner Kief. Where are we going? Wala na tayo sa city." Tanong niya sa akin. Papunta kami ngayon sa lugar kung saan makikita namin ang view ng city at ng mga bituin.

Kiefer: "Don't worry Ly, we'll get there. Promise, you'll love it there." Ngumiti lang ako habang nakafocus sa pagdidrive. Hindi na siya nagsalita.

Andito na kami sa isang mountain ridge, 1 hour away lang to from the city. Na discover ko ang lugar nato way back 4 years ago when Ly left. Kung gusto ko ng time para makapag-isip, I just go here instead of getting drunk at the bar. Hindi ko naman alam na may ganito pa lang lugar kasi I just go wherever my car takes me. Maganda ang lugar nato, wala nga lang tao pero safe naman. Kailangan lang ma develop ng lugar na to, and I'm sure maraming dadayo dito, this place is just so serene.

Kiefer: "We're here!"

Alyssa: "Wow. This place is amazing. I didn't know na may ganitong lugar pala."

Kiefer: "Wait til you see more of this place. Let's go?"

Bumaba na kami ng kotse at kinuha sa likod ang food namin. Nagpaluto lang ako kay Mama ng Spaghetti, Adobo at Baked Scallops. Bumili na rin ako ng cake at wine. Before I went to training kaninang hapon, nagpunta muna ako dito para ihanda ang set up for our dinner. Simple lang naman, naglatag lang ako ng blanket, nilagyan ko din ng scented candles, rose petals scattered sa gilid and a thick blanket in case we feel cold.

Alyssa: "You prepared all these? The view is amazing Kief, it's so breathtaking." She said while admiring the view. Andito kami malapit sa edge ng mountain, makikita mo talaga ang view ng city.

Kiefer: "Yes. Do you like it?" I faced her.

Alyssa: "I love it. Alam mo, first time natin mag picnic date. Kasi before we just eat sa mga restos or watch a movie. This is new." She just smiled at me.

Kiefer: "Glad you love it. Upo na tayo so we can eat, maya-maya we'll watch the stars."

Umupo na kami then sinindihan ko na ang mga kandila. Di naman masyadong madilim, maliwanag dito dahil sa moonlight.

While we're eating, nag kukwentuhan lang kami like we used to before, no awkward moments. We talked about my training, ang buhay ni Ly sa US and many other things.

Alyssa: "Kief paano mo nalaman ang lugar na to?" magkaharap kami ngayon kumakain ng cake.

Kiefer: "I was just driving and di ko namalayan na nakarating ako dito. When you left 4 years ago, siyempre nalungkot ako. And I needed to divert my attention para makalimutan ang sakit na nararamdaman ko." Yumuko lang siya. "I tried to get wasted, and I did pero I realized na it won't do me any good, and I know na hindi mo gustong magkaganun ako. One time, I really needed air and time to distress kasi ang dami kong iniisip. Nag didrive lang ako, I didn't know where to go and parang there's this force controlling me to drive going here. So yeah, that's how I discovered this place and from that moment on, I just go here kung kinakailangan kong huminga. Ngayon nga lang ako ulit nakabalik dito, but this time it's different kasi kasama ka na." she just looked at me, and nakita ko na malungkot siya.
