Night had settled before I knew it, stars settling into the horizon as Amy finishes my makeup.

"Your wings are...." She trails off, adding the last touch to my right eyelid, "done!"

I thank her and grab my case, ready to leave when I remember something important.

Amy primps herself in the mirror, fluffing her hair and making kissy faces to give her a better view of her lip stick. She looks over to where I wonder about. "Are you looking for a million dollars?"

I chuckle and shake my head, "No I have a letter I want to give to JTK"

She gives me a pointed look "Do you think he'll actually show up?"

I feel my heart fall. JTK may be a charming and amazingly supportive person, but he's made it abundantly clear he hates to be seen. All the times I'd begged to meet him had always come up short in the long run, so, honestly, I'm not sure if he'll show up. If he doesn't want to be seen that badly will he even bother to watch me sing?

I clear my throat. "Yea...He will...I know he will" I plaster a fake smile in my cheeks and turn away from her, going back to my desk and pushing aside the notes from my previous recordings. I find the drawer handle I'm looking for and tug on it, opening the contents.

I sigh in content at the box filled to the brink with hundreds of letters, filled with poetic words. The notes from JTK written on various pieces of paper, an old napkin, paper towels, even a gum wrapper with a pink glob still stuck to his initials. I shuffle through the pile and finally come across the letter that begged for answers and another meeting. The letter I know I'll regret giving him.

I fold the paper delicately and place it in my jacket pocket, pulling up the zipper all the way to my chest, keeping my dress hidden until the performance. "Ready?" I ask Amy, seeing her torn fishnet leggings and silver dress. She fastens the back of her earing and smiles.

"You bet your sweaty ass I do!"

I laugh and tug on her arm, closing the zipper on her own jacket. "Let's go before the boys have a heart attack"

...

Why am I here?

I shouldn't be here...

I'm breaking my promise to her for that Demon.

I don't want to do this...

Don't make me do this!

Maybe she won't get hurt.

Maybe I won't have to hurt her.

Maybe he won't let her run off alone; act as her watchman until the night ends.

My Baby...Please don't go alone.

The dark is a dangerous place...

"Full of Monsters like me....."

...

The park was packed to the brink as people filled the parking lots, bringing lawn chairs and other various seat with them.

Daryl and Casper were already backstage whenever we arrived. We had met up later and were finishing up preparing for our set.

Jason's band would perform first, then us, then another band from the next town over. I was nervous. Despite how much faith I had in my band-mates, I couldn't fight this tinge of nausea that teased my stomach. It was a throbbing sensation that I was sure made me feel uneasy, like something bad was going to happen.
