((MERRY CHRISTMAS MY BEAUTIFUL JAYS!!!))

There wasn't much keeping me in the lull of sleep. I jibed between the borders and teased myself.

A soft push threw me off the cliffs edge of awake and I felt my eyes break open.
Smile was licking my nose and my door was open. I knew Jeff probably let him in but I couldn't bring myself to muster the emotion of anger. Times were testing and I had so much to learn. Sharing a house with a serial killer is difficult enough--not to mention hard to wrap my mind around. I dont need to cause anymore conflict than I already have. I mishandled the chances of a good start yesterday in our fight, but I honestly don't believe there could have been a 'good start'.

Still cold from my dream, I buried myself in the covers, trying to use the sheets to escape my current predicament.
My stomach rumbles obnoxiously loud and I start to feel the hollow pit of hunger gnaw at my insides.

Although, cold and hungry, I am a fugitive now. There is no where for me to go, so, I guess, this miserable morning is the norm now.
I know I needed to be up and at em' by now, but I just wanted to sleep.

There was a soft knock at the door and I knew it was the only person here.
"Hey you awake, yet?"

My face and body were buried beneath the shelter of the sheets, there was no way for him to know I was up. Maybe I can trick him and get some more shut eye?

There was quiet and I thought I had him until a great weight fell on me and I grunted heavily.

"Get off of me, fat ass" I groaned and kicked him off. I was no doubt awake now.

Jeff chuckled and hurried out of the room like a little kid trying to pester his sister.
Smile waited patiently for me, while I threw myself out of bed and made my way to the dog scented living space.

There was a small island bar to separate the living room and kitchen, which I promptly leaned on and watched Jeff shuffle around. He had his shit off and a pair of basketball shorts on, but I tried to keep my blushing to a minimum.

"Morning, princess" he smirked and I promptly noted my grotesc half-asleep appearance.

"Fuck you" I stated with attempted venom, however I quickly found myself laughing with him. I was suddenly thankful for the atmospheric shift. After yesterday, it's a good change.

"So...how'd you sleep?" He asked insecurely. I took notw of the way he asked, the way his voice teetered in a way that showed he was looking for the right words.

"Um..." I froze to death in my sleep "it was...okay"
My stomach began to growl and I put a hand over my gut to silence it, though it didn't do any good. Jeff heard my rumbling and sighed.

"Hungry?"

I nodded sheepish.

"C'mon, let's see what we got." He led me into his bed room and pulled open the closet, showing me a blue cooler along with a few frumpy shirts and pants hanging up in the small space.

"Uh, wouldn't it be more appropriate if the food was...I don't know, in the fridge?"

Jeff looked up at me after crouching to the height of the cooler.
"...yea, no. There's things growing in that fridge that probably haven't been identified yet."

I kept quiet after that.

After a few moments, Jeff opened the cooler and revealed to me several packets of Spam Singles pouches, juice boxes, and a small case of beer tucked away in the corner.

"I'm loving my choices here" I commented and sighed at my limited options. No one said this would be easy.

"I-I don't eat much." Jeff tensed, he looks like, maybe he was hiding something. Or maybe, he was trying to cover for himself, like he has a secret.
