Chapter 1

Park Areum's POV
Same old morning. Wake up. Breakfast. Bathe. And go to school. It's very boring but I'm used to it. It's not that I hate school I'm just not one of those typical students who are very sociable. So yeah, I don't have friends since I'm very intimidating as they have said. But who cares? Its not like that I actually care. Anyways, I did my morning routine and went off to school early. While walking I saw a little girl with her mom and dad taking her to school, seeing them being a complete and happy family makes me feel envious towards the little girl.

Flashback...
I was alone at home doing my assignments, no matter how much I want to go out, I can't.. It was raining heavily and my parents weren't home yet, they always work. I don't mind at all since I know they want to have a better future for the three of us. Once I finished my assignments, I plopped down on my bed while looking outside my window, tracing the raindrops that were sliding. I was so into what I was doing when I heard the phone ring.. "Hello?" I answered. "Ah yes, hello, is this Park Areum?" The person on the other line asked. "Yes. Why?" "I'm sorry to say but your parents are gone.." I felt my knees get weak as I heard those words.. "W-wait.. It can't be.. You must have made a mistake.. My parents are working right now.. And how? They can't be dead.." "I'm sorry.. But your parents have been murdered, we're investigating now who the possible murders are. I'm sorry again for your loss Ms. Areum.." I couldn't take it anymore so I ended the call. Tears started to fall as I crouched down.. "I should've convinced them to take a day off.. If I had convinced them then maybe they would still be here with me laughing and having a family bonding time" I said to myself while crying.. "Whoever did this must be punished" I said while clenching my fists..
