Chapter 41

Park Areum's POV
I woke up by the sound of the alarm, I rubbed my eyes and turned off the alarm. I smiled a bit when I remembered what today is. But that smile soon turned into a frown when I remembered I'll be celebrating all by myself. I stood up and fixed my bed and went to the bathroom to prepare myself for school. Once I was finished, I headed towards the kitchen and took one slice of bread. I took my bag, I opened the door and on my doorstep was a rose and a note. I held the rose in my left hand while I held the note on my right.

"Areum-ah!!! I have something for you!!! Come to school early and go to your locker. There's something waiting for you there!"

Now what is this guy up to.. I thought while smiling. I looked at the rose and smiled. This guy really is something. I walked to school, holding the note and the rose in my hand while smiling. As I was passing by the hallway I saw my locker with a note sticked on it.

"Open your locker. I have something for you inside. :)"

I let out a small laugh and opened my locker only to see a candle. Wait.. What? Is he serious? I looked inside my locker again and spotted another note

"By the way, go to the school's garden. I'll be waiting for you there :) ."

I shook my head while smiling then made my way towards the garden. When I was near the garden, someone blindfolded me. "Hey, don't worry. It's me, J-hope." "J-hope? What's with the blindfold?" I asked. "Shh. Don't take this off unless you're told to okay? Now let's go. I'm going to guide you." J-hope said. He held my arm to guide me towards the garden. "Alright. I'll be leaving you here now okay? Again, don't take that off unless you're told to. Bye!!" J-hope said. "Yah V!! Are you here?" I began. Then I heard a chuckle. "You look cute with that blindfold you know?" V said. "Aish.. Can I take it off now?" I asked. "Hmm okay." Once I took off the blindfold I was really surprised and tears began to fill my eyes. "You... You did this.. For me?" I asked between tears. I can't believe what I'm seeing right now. There were balloons and banners that says: HAPPY BIRTHDAY AREUM!!! And V was holding a cake. "Happy Birthday Areum-ah~ Do you still have that candle with you?" He asked. I smiled and gave it to him. He took it and placed it on the cake and lit the candle up. "Now make a wish!" V said while smiling. I closed my eyes and wished then blew the candle. V placed the cake on the bench the held my hands. "I'm sorry if it wasn't much.." "What are you saying? It was perfect. Thank you." I said and hugged him. "I can't believe you did this for me.. I didn't even told you when my birthday is." "You know I'll do anything for you. Let's just say I did my research." V said and kissed my forehead. "Hey V.." "Yeah?" "It's a yes." V pulled away from the hug and looked at me. "What do you mean by yes?" I laughed a bit and cupped his cheek. "It's official. We're official." I said. He looked at me with wide eyes. "You mean we're a thing?! You mean you're my girlfriend now?!?!" he asked. I laughed and nodded. "Yes we're a thing now. I'm officially your girlfriend and you're officially my boyfrie-" he didn't let me finish. He cupped my cheeks and kissed me. I pulled away immediately. "Y-yah! Not here!" I said. "Oh hahaha yeah sorry. Come on, let's go, class will start soon." V said and placed the cake back in the box. "Let's go?" he asked. I smiled and nodded. He reached for my hand and intertwined our fingers. Almost all of the students in the hallway have their attention on us. Others were whispering and others were smiling at us. Suddenly, I saw Minji taking her books from her locker. Once she saw me and V together, holding hands, she immediately frowned and slammed her locker and walked away. So much for that... V walked with me to my first class. "I guess I'll see you again later during recess. I'll wait beside your locker okay?" He said and kissed my forehead. He waved me goodbye and I did the same.
