6 YEARS LATER

Park Areum's POV

6 years have passed and things have changed. I was finally taking over my parents' company even though I'm still staying here at New York. Surprisingly, I became famous not only for being one of the most young people who runs a company, but also for being  a model.

Yes. That's right. After I became the cover of Forbes Magazine twice, I was chosen to be a model of different signature brands. Mostly Puma. But despite that, I still remained what I am. I'm also supporting the orphanage that I visited back then.

I never talked to them after that incident. I heard they reached the BBMAs but that's it. That's all that I've heard from them. I brought a new phone and hid the old one when I got back here. Me and Serena never talked about them nor mention their names since it would be better to focus on our career instead. Although Serena accidentally mentions them at some of our conversations.

"Hello? Earth to Areum." Serena said while waving her hand in front of my face. "Huh? What? Did you say something?" I asked while slightly shaking my head. Serena playfully rolled her eyes at me. "I said that you have an important meeting with Mr. Gray at 4." "Oh. Yeah I remember. Thanks." I said while slightly turning my swivel chair around to get a glimpse of view of the city. "Are you okay? You seem a bit lost lately. Is there something bothering you?" Serena asked while taking a seat in front of my desk. "I'm fine. Just a tad bit tired that's all." I said while looking at her direction. "Are you sure? It doesn't seem like it. You know that you can always tell me about it. No need to bottle it all up." Serena insisted. "I'm okay really. There's nothing to worry about. It's not much of a big deal to be honest." I said while muttering the last part. "You miss them, don't you?" Serena began. "Serena." I growled while giving her a slight glare. "Okay okay I'm sorry. I know I promised not to talk about them or mention anything about them but I just couldn't help it." Serena whined which caused me to let out a sigh. "Just please don't mention anything about them when you're around me. Anyways, it's already lunch, you go ahead." I said while taking a folder and flipping through some pages. "You're not gonna eat?" "Nah, I'm not hungry anyways." I said while still flipping through some pages. "Alright. Just don't starve yourself. Go down when you're hungry or something." "Yes mom." "Ha ha very funny."  And with that, she left and I was all left alone in my office.

30 minutes have passed and I was skimming through some reports when I heard someone knock. "Come in." I called out. I looked away from the papers I was reading to glance at the person only to see it was Xander. "Do you need something?" I asked as I turned my attention back to the papers I was reading a while ago. "No... I just.. I uhh bought you lunch. Serena mentioned that you didn't go down from your office to have lunch. So yeah.. Here." Xander said while placing a paper bag on my table that is filled with stacked folders and papers. "Thanks. You didn't have to though." I said while putting all the folders back into the file box. Xander chuckled as he stood up and made his way towards the door. "It's alright. I wouldn't want your stomach making a load grumbling noise while we're having a meeting with Mr. Gray. That would be embarrassing." He said which made me snort. He smiled before opening the door to leave.

We are now currently in the conference room with Mr. Gray discussing about his business partnership proposal. I kept a blank face while listening to him while taking a sip of coffee every now and then. "And that ends my proposal. What do you think Ms. Park." Mr. Gray said as he ended his powerpoint presentation. I tapped my finger on the mahogany stained table as I skim through the reports before leaning back on the chair. "I'm sorry to say this but I can't accept this. I'm sorry." I said as I flipped the cover of the folder closed. "May I know why?" Mr. Gray asked, looking very displeased. I then cleared my throat to get everyone's attention. "The meeting is over. All of you except for me and Mr. Gray are dismissed." I said which resulted to the rest of my colleagues to stand up and collect their stuff as they all made their way out of the conference room.

"I'm sorry Mr. Gray but I can't do anything but to turn down your offer." I said as slid his report towards him. "But why? This proposal is what will make both our companies number one! This is what both our companies want Ms. Park. I don't see the reason why this proposal is to be rejected." Mr. Gray said as he closed his laptop. "You see Mr. Gray, that's where you are mistaken. Maybe it's you who wants that but not me. I don't focus on what I want. Instead, I focus on what I need. And my company doesn't need that nor want that." I explained while propping my elbows on the table. "So what do you want to say? That I'm only after riches? Is that it?" Mr. Gray growled while giving me a slight glare which made me look at him in amusement. "Well I'm clearly sure that I didn't mentioned anything like that. What I'm trying to say is that your proposal doesn't fit with my company. Like I said, my company doesn't need it. We'll just both be wasting our time and money if we go on with your proposal." I explained while I made my way towards the door to open it. I looked back at Mr. Gray before tilting my head towards the door. "After you." I said. Mr. Gray just growled in response as he collected his things. He was about to leave when he stopped in front of me. "You'll regret this Ms. Park. One day your company will fall into ruin and you'll be begging on your knees for me to help you." Mr. Gray taunted me which only made me smile. "Oh I'm sure that wouldn't happen. Do you know why?" I said as I moved closer to him while giving him a cold stare. "Because I'm Park Areum. And Park Areum never falls and never begs." I said before going back to my previous position. "Now if you don't mind, I still have important matters to attend to." I said as we both got out from the conference room.  "Again, I apologize for not accepting your offer but business is business. Have a nice day." I said before giving him a small smile. And with that, I turned around and walked away with my heels clicking on the floor.

I let out a loud sigh as I plopped down on my swivel chair. I ran my fingers through my hair as I turned my chair around to catch another glimpse of the breathtaking view of the city. I smiled in content as I adored the the pink sky that stretched around the city of New York.

After a few minutes of me staring at the view of the city, someone knocked on my door. "Come in." I called out as I turned my swivel chair around while I fixed my clothing. The door opened only to reveal Bo Gum and Do Hyun. "Well isn't it my two favorite boys." I said while smiling at the two of them. "Hey, I hope we're not disturbing you." Bo Gum said as we walked towards me while carrying Do Hyun. "Of course not. My happy pill just arrived on time. Isn't it that right Do Hyun?" I cooed as I took Do Hyun from Bo Gum and sat him on my lap facing me.

(A/N: Just to make things clear, Do hyun is a toddler (boy).)

Yes that's right. Bo Gum is perfectly fine now. The surgery was a success. And as promised, I was with him throughout his recovery.

"So how was your day?" Bo Gum asked me. "Tiring as usual." I said while playing with Do Hyun's hands which made him giggle. "I had a meeting a few minutes ago and it didn't turned out so good. The guy was not pleased when I rejected his business proposal." I said while closing my eyes for a moment. "How about the three of us go out for dinner then we'll watch a movie when we arrive home. It's Friday anyways. You won't have work tomorrow. Plus, I bought ice cream. Sounds good?" Bo Gum asked me while he placed both of his hands on my shoulder. "That would be nice thank you." I said as I turned my head to look at him while giving him a small smile. "Anything for you." He said and returned the smile. I looked back towards Do Hyun and smiled. "Did you heard that baby? We'll have ice cream!" I said with an excited voice which caused Do Hyun to squeal in excitement and clap his hands. "Yayy!! Do Hyun wikes ice cweam." Do Hyun said while clapping his hands which caused me and Bo Gum to laugh at his cuteness.
