Chapter 72

Alexander James's POV
The car ride was silent. I kept glancing once in a while at Areum who was looking out from the window. I sighed while staring at the traffic ahead of us. Should I talk to her? Yes because this tension is killing me. Wait.. No.. What if she shouts at me? What if she fires me? Sh*t. I gulped and looked at her again before turning my attention back on the road. "You know you could just tell me what you want to tell me." Areum said which made me gulp harder. "I... I umm... I just want to apologize." I said. "You do know that you should be apologizing to Serena and not me." She said. I didn't know what to say so I just kept quiet. Once we reached the building, I turned off the engine and exited the car. I was planning to open the car door for Areum but she beat me to it. While walking through the hallway, I asked Areum, "Umm.. Areum, by any chance, would you reconsider about banning Victoria from entering the company?" "No." She said in a monotone voice which made me frown. "May I ask why you have made such decision?" I asked. She stopped walking and faced me. "I don't see any purpose on telling you why. If I did told you, would you believe me?" She said while looking at me seriously. I just stood there silently. "Hmm I thought so." She said and made her way towards the elevator. I sighed and walked behind her.

Soon enough, she was done with her interview and both of us now are on our way towards a large room where she would be having a photo shoot. It turns out she was chosen to be on the cover of the magazine. When we entered the room they were already setting the lights. "Please come with me Ms. Park. We'll be doing your hair and makeup." She then stood up and left. I sighed while taking my phone out to see if I have any scheduled meetings for today. And gladly there was none. After a few minutes, Areum finally came out. She looked so elegant. One of the staffs guided her for the photo shoot and there I was just staring at her. Don't get me wrong, I don't like her. I just found her very attractive that's all. Areum caught me staring at her and raised an eyebrow at me before looking back at the camera.

Finally, the photo shoot was over and Areum wasn't talking to me. Well it's not like I want her to talk to me or something but I feel uncomfortable because of the tension. "Hey Areum, since we don't have any scheduled meetings today, would you like me to tour you around a bit more here in New York?" I asked to lessen the tension. "Sorry but I think I have to pass." She said while taking the car keys from me. "Why not? I'm sure it will be fun." I said. "And why are you taking the keys? I could drive for you." I added. She then turned to look at me. "Look Xander, I appreciate your efforts and all but please, instead of persuading me, just go and get something for Serena as a peace offering. If you think I'm mad at you, I'm not. I just have many things running inside my head." She said while she got on the driver's seat. "At least let me drive for you." I said. "It's okay, I can manage. Besides, I still need to go somewhere so I'll just drop you off at the company." She said which made me sigh. "Alright then." I muttered.

Park Areum's POV
I stopped the car in front of the company and waited for Xander to get out. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" Xander said and I just nodded. He was about to close the door when he suddenly opened it again and was about to say something but he looks hesitant. "Yes Xander?" I asked. "Well I ummm... I.... just have safe trip." He said then closed the door. I couldn't help but let my brows furrow. He's acting so weird today.

Someone's POV
I sat on the swivel chair while tapping my fingers on the arm rest. All of a sudden there was a knock on my office door. "Come in." I said. "Sir, you have a meeting on 2 o'clock." My secretary said. "Alright. Anything more?" I asked. "Yes. There is a man outside saying you called for him." My secretary said. "Bring him in." I said. "Yes sir." After that, my secretary left and after a few minutes, someone opened the door. "Ahh just the man I was looking for. Come sit." I said as I gestured him to sit on the chair in front of me which he obliged. "You called me?" He asked. "Yes. I need your help with something. Do you know a group called BTS?" I asked. He looked confused but nodded. "Yeah. What about them?" He asked. "Well, all of them have a connection with this particular person." I said. "So what do you want me to do?" He asked which made me smirk. "I want you to make a threat. You see, I was planning something but I can't do it because of them. They're such a bothersome." I said. He then crossed his arms. "What's in it for me?" He asked. "Just give me the price and I'll give it to you. But! This will only remain to the two of us. Once I find out that you turn against me, I'll send you to prison or worse.. I'll end your life." I said. "And what makes you so sure of that?"  He said. "I know all of your dirty secrets. Drugs, Robbery, etc. But if you choose to do whatever I say, then you'll be safe. So, do we have a deal?" I asked as I offered my hand for him to shake and seal the deal. He looked at me for a moment and smirked. "Deal." He said and shook my hand which made me smirk. It's time to eliminate you Park Areum and get what is rightfully mine.
