I slipped into the tub and had a rich soak. I still couldn't understand why he came back now, of all times. I just... What did he want with Mom? It's like he just wants to cause grief. I can tell when a person... Tricks... Somebody. And he's tricking Mom. It's been three weeks now, so, really, I should be used to him.

It was then I heard my Mom yell out.

"Wh-what are you doing with that knife?!" she yelled, clearly in danger. I managed to dry my body and throw my clothes on in thirty seconds.

"ITS THAT STUPID MISTAKE WE MADE! THAT JACOB OF YOURS! HE'S HOLDING YOU BACK!" he yelled at the top of his lungs. I heard Mom crying as I leaped down the stairs and threw myself into the kitchen.

"Lookie here, the creature itself. What are you gonna do, kid?" he taunted, and successfully.

I felt rage bubble up inside me, like hot water into a tank.

"Drop... The knife..." I mumbled through gritted teeth.

"What, you scared?"

"I SAID DROP IT!" I screamed, clear anger spreading across my face.

Before he could do anything, I felt my arm jerk forward towards him, my entire body following suit. I landed a hard uppercut on his jaw, knocking him to the floor. He leaped up and tried to stab me with the knife, but I dodged and my fist glowed a dull purple as I launched my clenched hand into his stomach. He launched against the wall and I noticed a red liquid on my hands.

'Blood', I thought. And I was right. I looked at the spot where I punched him, and there was a cut the shape of a jagged golf ball. Hatred rushing through me, I called for an ambulance and police, then knocked him out with a kick to the face.

When the Police arrived, they didn't question his wounds, they plainly arrested him and Mom was taken to hospital. Once they all left, I was left alone in my house. Just me and the air around me. I thought it was getting late, so I headed to bed and tried to sleep, and sure enough, had nightmares the entire night. Most included being arrested after questioning about Dad's injuries.

That night was the last night I would ever live as a normal person.
