I just stood and looked at Elenore for a second, panting slightly as the rain fell. It soaked her and me, and then I muttered, "sorry..." And sprinted into the trees with superhuman speed. Never before in my life had I wanted to run so fast. In my wake I saw trees almost torn from the ground because of the air my speed was pulling. When I finally stopped, it was at the cave I'd been to before. I slid into it and then just sat there, listening to the pouring rain behind me. I slammed my head against the wall repeatedly. "Stupid, stupid, stupid!"
I sighed as I lit the campfire again. I laid down next to it. Memories flooded me, not of Elenore, or of anybody here. But of Earth. Of Katelyn. Of my other friends. And of my mother, the one person who truly cared for me. She always tried to raise me like a decent, grown-up person. What I'd just done was that of a pouty seven-year-old. And I deeply regretted it, but at the same time... I couldn't exactly tell myself I was a demon.
