I found the portal finally. When I looked through, I saw Elenore with this strange woman. I called her name, but she didn't hear me. Just as I went through the portal everything began to fade to nothingness. I ran to her and the woman but they just evaporated as I reached to touch them. And just like that, it was gone. Everything I knew, everything I held dear... All gone.
I felt a presence and as I turned, I saw a bright flash. All crashing toward me. Like a nuclear bomb, in the millisecond it hits. The white light and the roar. And everything went calm. Slowly, time started to speed up and my vision blurred. The last thing I remembered was seeing red, the red I knew to be the rest of the explosion. And just like that, I was gone. I appeared in a strange place where there was nothing. Until I heard a dark voice.
"Jacob... Green..." It says. The voice was raspy and deep, like I'd imagined the devil's having, but then... It spoke again.
"You are not real." It... said...
You are not real rattled around in my head, spreading like a wild fire. But suddenly... I saw. And I could already see, but this was different.
I saw Elenore and her friends. Ciel and the others. I saw them all. Back on Earth. And I realised. I was just an imaginary... thought.
A stray.
A depiction.
Not real.
Not alive.
I never even breathed. Not really.
The life I had...
Was all...
Just...
A lie.
