I woke up, smelling something like soot or ash. But as my eyes opened, all I saw was a hazy orange-yellow colour. My eyes widened at this as I stood. I looked around at the burnt buildings, the murdered townspeople, and at the town that now just looked like the result of a nuclear war. I stumbled, my eyes darting around, my breathing erratic. The images of the burnt, shredded and poisoned men, women, and children haunting me in every waking moment. I turned and ran towards the forest, which seemed to be nonexistent. I sprinted to Ciel, and slid to his side, immediately checking his pulse. He was alive, and well. But unconscious nonetheless. Then I remembered...

Maura!

Where was she... I ran around, trying my best to ignore the dead people, and saw Maura laid in a shop. I gasped and sprinted with extreme speed. I realised that my feelings for Elenore had transferred to Maura, and that if I didn't save her, if she needed it, I would blame myself for her death, and nobody needs that. I leapt over flames and landed by her side. I picked her up, her torn clothes making it difficult to grip one part of her body. I ran out the door, my dark shield protecting us from the flames. I ran with her to the forest and laid her next to Ciel. I would need to get a message to Elenore somehow, but my extended telepathy device had been damaged in the incursion.

Here's a pretty state of things.
