Andy was happy with my work on his nose. He was so happy that he decided to buy me lunch. Andy asked me about my plans for his portrait and whether I was going to leave it black and white or color it. I had this really cool idea that I could just color his eyes and leave everything else. He took his time thinking about it which made me nervous and made me feel like he was looking for a way to tell me it was a stupid idea, nicely. Eventually he told me he thought it was a good idea but I was hesitant to believe he was being honest. He must of noticed because he lifted my chin and told me he truly meant that he thought it was an amazing idea and it would blow our Art teachers mind. I felt a sudden burning in my cheeks when I realised the contact we had. He pulled away suddenly and his cheeks turned a bright pink. I smiled a little and looked down at my hands. We sat there awkwardly for a while before the bell rang and I practically jumped out of my skin at the noise. Andy must have noticed because he started laughing hysterically. I got up and punched his arm weekly and he pretended to be hurt. I suddenly felt bad because I actually believed that I'd hurt him, but then he smiled and chuckled a little. Oh that chuckle, I swear I'd never heard anything more heart warming than the sound of him chuckling. Andy and I split ways as we headed to our next class and it kind of hurt my heart not being near him. He was my only friend and I was so needing of his presence it was pathetic.

The last few classes of the day went by slowly, my head was spinning with thoughts of Andy and whether or not I should tell Grace about him. How have I not told Grace? She's my best friend in the whole wide world and I haven't even told her about him! What is wrong with me? She is going to be so infuriated when she figures out I didn't tell her right away.

I kept having mental arguments with myself during the last few classes about how I'm going to explain to her that I forgot to tell her about him yesterday. I finally settled with telling her that I didn't realise until today how important he is and I didn't want to jinx anything. It's a poor excuse yes I know but it'll have to do.

I was thrown from my thoughts when suddenly the bell rang signaling the end of school. I pretty much ran to the front of the building to meet Andy. I got there right as Andy pulled up. I jumped into his car almost eager to finally be around him again.

The ride to his house was short and unlike yesterday Andy didn't play any music or tap his thumbs on his steering wheel. We sat there in silence while I looked out the window admiring the view. He pulled into a gas station and asked if I wanted any snacks or anything and I said maybe just some chips or something. He came out with two bags of original Lays chips. While he filled the tank I sat there happily munching on my chips. I hardly even noticed that he'd started the car and was driving.

We arrived at his house shortly after. We sat in his car kind of awkwardly.

"Hey Ade so you might have to meet my parents today... I know we just met but they're obviously home and we might not be able to sneak up to my room like yesterday. Is that okay? Or do you wanna go somewhere else?"

"No it's fine. I mean can we sit in here for a minute so I can process this though."

"Yeah of course take as much time as you need."

"Okay."

We sat in his car for about 30 minutes while I mentally prepared myself to meet his parents. I never had a friend who had parents, let alone wanted me to meet them. I told him I was ready, but deep down I knew I wasn't. I was so nervous and my hands were shaking, Andy must have noticed because he grabbed them and gave me a reassuring look. Right before he opened the door I admitted to him that I'd never met a friend's parents before or had a friend that actually had parents.

"Damn, we're friends? I was hoping to be more."

Wait what? He just said that? Is he admitting he has feelings for me? Oh my god. "U-uh"

"Calm down Ade I was trying to help you not be so nervous okay?"

"Oh okay haha, thanks for trying."

Andy opened the door and guided me to the living room where he guessed his parents were. I saw two familiar faces sitting on the couch. The looked up at me with shock in their eyes and in that instant I knew exactly who they were.
