Andy's POV
Little Sister: We really need to talk.
Me: Why?
Little Sister: It's urgent please just hear me out.
Me: Are you in trouble?
Little Sister: No, I just ugh this is so hard to say.
Me: I'm coming over.
Little Sister: What? Why?
Me: To make it easier for you, duh.
Little Sister: Okay I guess... tell me when you get here then.
Me: I'll call you when I am.
Little Sister: Sounds good.
Me: See you in a minute.
Little Sister: See yah.
The drive from my house to Ade's wasn't so long. She lived only a mile or two away. When I got there I pulled out my phone and called Ade. She didn't pick up, but moments later I saw her climbing out of her window. I chuckled to myself and got out to help her jump down from the roof. She fell right into my arms like it was nothing. I let her out of my arms after a few minutes of looking at her all cuddled into the crook of my neck. Believe it or not I missed my baby sister. Yes I was mad at her but in all reality I was too stubborn to apologize. I shouldn't have ignored her for months on end. When I let her down I pulled her into my arms and hugged her for what seemed like forever. I could feel tears escaping from my eyes and she started crying too.
"I missed you Andy." She whisper against my chest.
"I missed you too baby sister. So where do you wanna go?"
"Wherever we can talk in private."
"I know just the spot."
I drove her to the spot that my band often partied at on Fridays. It was quiet and remote. The lake looks beautiful at night and I could tell Ade thought it was as well. I stopped my car and went around and opened the door for her. She wouldn't stop looking at the lake. There were fireflies everywhere. I held her hand as we walked down to the water and sat.
"So what'd you want to talk to me about?"
"So... Mrs. Castro told me that there might be a chance that you and your parents have no relation to me."
"What? What do you mean?"
"Apparently their doubting whether we're related or not because they can't find my birth certificate."
"Then why do my parents think your the baby they gave up?"
"I have no idea. Mrs. Castro could hardly explain it herself."
"So what does this mean?"
"Will you take a paternity test with me?"
"Why me?"
"Because you're the only one in that family that I bonded with and like."
"When?"
"I have the stuff right now."
"Shouldn't I ask my parents first?"
"No just don't stress about it. They'll never know unless the results come out as we're not related."
"Okay..."
"Please Andy, this will mean the world to me, and will make up for you ignoring me for months."
"Fine."
"Thank you so much Andy."
"How long will it take for the results to get here?"
"Um, maybe a few days. It just depends."
"Okay."
We took the swabs and rubbed the inside of our cheeks with it and then put it in the tubes. I was scared. Really scared. I don't want to find out that Ade isn't my little sister. What would that mean for our relationship?
"Ade... I'm scared."
"I am too."
"Wha if-"
"We can always be friends no matter what happens. I don't wanna lose you."
"Promise?"
"Pinky."
"I love you."
"I love you too big brother."
"I love it when you call me that."
"I can tell."
