Ade's POV

Andy: See you little sister.

I smiled internally for awhile, staring at my phone until Gracie got in my face and started snapping.

"What's wrong with you? Are you going to school or not?"

"Uh yeah, hey do my makeup?"

"You do realise what time it is right?"

"No...? What time is it?"

"It's 7:15."

"So?"
"School starts at 7:55."

"Your point?"

"Don't you have friends that you wanna spend time with before school?"

"No, I'm only friends with Andy."

"Oh okay, well I'm not going all out on your face."

Grace sat me down the chair and started applying concealer to my face. After about 10 minutes Grace announced that she was finished and proud. Apparently she's never done this good of a job on someone's face in 10 minutes. I thanked her and rushed out to door. Since I missed the bus I was going to ask Mrs. Castro for a ride, but to my surprise Andy was in the driveway waiting for me.

"Do you ever bother to look at your text messages?"

"What do you mean?"

"I texted you and told you I was picking you up. I also said you should come outside 10 minutes ago."

"Oh, well sorry, Gracie was doing my makeup."

"Oh, well in that case you look good."

"Thank you big brother."

"I will never get tired of hearing you call me that, little sister."

"Ditto."

Andy drove into the school parking lot minutes later. It 7:35. After Andy found a parking spot that he was so proud of we headed to our spot that we hang out at lunch.

"Hey Ade I've been meaning to ask you something."

"What's up?"

"Do you care if people know that you're my little sister?"

"No not really, I could care less. People probably don't even know I exist."

"Good one."

"What?"

"Have you never heard about all the guys gushing over you? And all the jealous girls?"

"Um, no... are you serious?"

"Dead serious."

"Well I guess I haven't really been paying attention."

"Why?"

"You know damn well why."

"Oh yeah. Sorry haha."

The bell rang several minutes later and Andy offered to walk me to class but I told him it was okay since his class is the opposite way from mine. I walked into English and sat in my usual spot. While looking over my notes from last class a girl sat next to me and introduced herself.
"Hi, I'm Caroline."

"I'm Ade."

"I'm new, sorry if I'm bothering you there were no more empty spots."

"It's okay. I'm new too."

"Really? Is it your first day?"

"Not exactly, I just started Monday."

"Oh, well that's cool."

I was about to ask her a question when the teacher walked into the room and apologized for being late.

"Be right back, I need to talk to the teacher."

"Alright."

I walked over to the teacher and she didn't even notice me until I cleared my voice.

"What can I help you with?"

"Um, I was absent yesterday. Is there any makeup work I need to collect?"

"You know what's funny is that I saw you ditch school with Andrew."

"Yeah, he's my brother. When I got to school I saw how sick he was so I took him to his house to take care of him."

"So he's your brother, but you don't live with him? Or share the same last name?"

"Um yeah. When I was little Andy's parents gave me up for adoption. It's a long story I'd rather not get into."
"Why?"

"BECAUSE I DON'T FUCKING WANT TO OKAY?"

"Young lady, don't ever take that tone with me. Go to the principals office. Now!"

"Oh my, I'm so so sorry please forgive me. I didn't mean to get so angry it's just a really touchy subject."

"Get out of my sight."

I turned around to go get my stuff only to see everyone staring at me. I blushed and choked down some tears. I walked over to my desk and grabbed my things.

"I'm so sorry." Caroline said.

"Don't be, it's my fault."

I rushed out of the classroom afraid that the teacher was going to yell at me again. I started walking in the direction of where the office was. I let tears fall down my face since no one else was in sight. I guess I wasn't paying attention because I ran into Andy.
"Hey what's wrong? Why aren't you in class?"

"I went to my English teacher to see if I could get any makeup work. Apparently she saw us ditch school together and then when I tried to explain I told her you're my brother."

"Okay so?"
"So she started asking questions that I didn't want to answer and she wouldn't stop. I blew up on her."

"So why aren't you in class?"

"She told me to go to the principals office."

"C'mmon I'll walk you there."
