Last time: The twins decided to help Miku through this tough time, and IA stuck with Luka, encouraging her to go and apologise.
Luka's PoV
Miku wasn't at school the next day.
I sigh, staring down at my desk, ignoring the cold glares that Rin gave me every now and then.
I feel so, so bad.
Why did I even say that stuff in the first place?!
Miku's a really sensitive person - I should have guessed the outcome.
Watashi wa baka desu... [Im an idiot]
I decide that I'll go an apologise at the end of the day.
However, I still have six long, painful hours ahead of me... and I'll be late for my job.
But oh well. I need to fix things up with my friend.
===========================
That has got to have been the longest, cruellest hours of my whole, entire life.
The second the bell rings out to tell everyone that school is over, I grab my bag and I'm about to dash out of the room.
That's until I was stopped.
"Megurine." Sensei called, looking at me. "I didn't say you could leave yet."
I sighed, returning to my seat and rolling my eyes. Some girls in my class are whispering along themselves, and the boys are laughing and calling out things that I don't want to hear.
Not because their words hurt me, but because they remind me of the things I told Miku a day ago.
I'm sorry... Please, please forgive me...
Rin's PoV
I skipped out of school, dragging Len behind me (as per usual.)
"Rin, I know you want to get to Miku's house as soon as possible, but I'm perfectly capable of walking!" Len complained, trying to escape my grasp.
I hold onto his wrist firmly, so he gives up with a small pout.
"You are capable of walking. Capable of walking 0.1 miles per hour because you never seem to be in a hurry to get anywhere, besides home so you can play your video games!" I yell.
"Come on, I know you love them to." Len smirked.
He's right, I do enjoy playing games. That's how we spent half of our time bonding when we were little, before we had the argument - we would sit in front of a large screen while clutching greasy controllers in our hands, playing game after game after game, and only stopping occasionally so we can go to the toilet or get something to eat.
"Fine. I like gaming. But I still want to get to Miku's quickly. I can't bare to see her in this state." I tell him.
My heart begins to ache at multiple thoughts - the way Miku is having to deal with things right now, and the thought that Luka did this to her.
To be honest, I'm finding it hard to accept the fact that Luka had done this to her.
We were friends, right?
We could trust each other, right?
I think back to yesterday, when I yelled at Luka for hurting Miku's feeling and when I punched her.
I shuddered.
I never thought I'd have to do that to her...
Len notices my odd behaviour and stops walking.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?" He asks, tilting his head to one side and looking at me with a concerned look in his eyes.
I smile at him.
"Don't worry about me, worry about Miku." I tell him, and Len shrugs and goes along with what I just said.
We carry on walking, my head in a whirl of thoughts as I try to process what had happened to our little friendship group.
In fact, I'm so focused on my thought, I don't notice that my shoelace is undone.
I step on the shoelace, and end up falling backwards.
"Oww..!" I protest, struggling back up to my feet and trying to act like nothing happened.
Len stops and turns around to look at me. He looks concerned yet amused at the same time.
"Did you fall over?" He asks smirking.
"No. I attacked the floor." I say sarcastically, kicking the ground.
Len raised an eyebrow.
"Backwards?" He asked. I smirk back at him.
"Yeah. I'm talented, aren't I?" I say, and we both start laughing, as we skip down the road to Miku's house.
Eventually we get there. I approach the door and then knock hastily.
No answer.
I frown and knock again.
This time, I see a light switch on from the window, and a figure who appears to be older and taller than Miku wanders over to the door.
Len and I stare at the door, waiting for it to open.
Eventually it does, and Mikuo can be seen, staring in the doorway.
Len smiles at him.
"Hi. We are Miku's friends. She introduced us not very long ago." Len said, bowing.
Mikuo smiled as he recalled the thought.
"Ah, yes. Len and Rin, correct? Please come in." Mikuo says, letting us into the apartment.
I stick close to Len as Mikuo locks the door.
"On the subject of Miku.." Len began, his smile dissolving into a frown, "where is she? Is she okay? Seeing as she wasn't at school today.."
Mikuo sighed, glancing over towards Miku's room.
"She's not been feeling one hundred percent. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but.." he said, raising an eyebrow as he spots me and Len exchanging glances.
"Is it okay if we go and see her? My sister Rin has been quite worried." Len explained, and Mikuo nodded and let us go and see Miku.
I approach her bedroom door and knock on it.
Pretty soon the door opens, and there is Miku, looking tired and upset.
"Um, what are guys doing here?" She asks, looking around for Mikuo.
"Don't worry, your brothers knows we're here. He said we can come and see you." Len smiles.
"Sure, come in.." Miku replies, opening the door wider so that Len and I can walk through and into Miku's small bedroom.
"So how are you, Miku?" I ask, sitting on the end of her bed.
"Okay, I guess.." Miku said with a sigh.
I pat the duvet next to me and she sits down. Comfortingly, I put my arm around her shoulders.
"Please cheer up soon..." I whisper very, very quietly.
