Slow Progress - #64

Last time: Rin decided to learn more about Neru and Len's relationship by listening in on one of their conversations.

Rin's PoV

"Len and Neru sitting in a tree~ K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" I sang as Neru stuffed her bags in her locker.

"For gods sake - shut up!" She said.

I stuck my tongue out at her.

"First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes a baby in the baby carriage-"

"I said SHUT. UP." Neru raised her voice, turning around and looking me straight in the eye. "Why are you evening following me around?!"

"D-Don't get the wrong idea, b-Baka!" I said in a silly, mocking high-pitched tone.

Neru sighed, an illusionary anger mark appearing as she pushed me away from her.

"Go and find your stupid friends." Neru huffed, and then quickly ran off.

"She's no fun..." I mutter to myself, making my way to homeroom.

"What's up with Rin today?" I hear Miku ask Luka. Her voice is quiet, so she probably doesn't think I can hear her.

I pout as Luka shrugs her shoulders.

"Ahem."

Miku jumps, turning around to face me. My arms are crossed, and I'm looking at Miku with an intimidating stare.

"I'm sorry! You've just been acting very secretive today!" Miku apologised.

"Secretive?" I repeat, tilting my head as a thought enters my mind.

Miku nods slowly.

"Whats wrong?" Luka asked. I grin at them both.

"You guys are going to help me with something." I say.

"Huh? I didn't agree to this!" Miku protested as I grabbed hers and Luka's wrists and drag them both behind me.

I look around the school until I find who I'm looking for.

"Target acquired." I say, dragging them both behind a wall.

"Um.. what?" Luka asks.

"Act like ninjas, okay?" I hiss. Miku and Luka exchange glances, and nod their heads slowly.

"Okay." I say,

"Um... what are we supposed to be doing?" Miku asks me.

I sigh, looking at her.

"I'm suspecting a girl called Neru likes Len, so I'm trying to gather more information about the matter." I explain.

"Why don't you just ask Neru if she likes him or not?" Luka suggests.

"Baka." I say, lightly punching her arm. "She's tsundere - very tsundere. She won't give up easily and confess her feelings."

Miku giggles.

"You two have something in common, then." She says.

I facepalm.

"That's exactly what Teto said..." I sigh. "Anyway, get serious here!"

Miku nods slowly, obviously still a little bit confused, and Luka mouths the word "okay."

I use my hands to mimic a gun, and slowly peak around the corner. Sure enough, Neru walks over to Len and they both start up a conversation.
