Last time: Luka explained her situation to Miku and Rin.

Rin's PoV

Monday is the only weekday Luka doesn't have to work at one of her part-time jobs.

She agreed to walk home with me, Miku and Len.

That's how I end up waiting at the school gates.

Len arrives first.

"Did you find out what's up with Luka?" He asked, walking over to join me.

I nodded.

"Yeah. She told me and Miku at lunch." I say.

Len raised an eyebrow.

"And what did she say?"

"I'm not going to tell you what she said." I refused. Len sighed. "But I will tell you that she overworks. It's not good for her." I explain, shaking my head.

Len frowned, looking at the ground.

"Have you told her to take it easy?" He asks.

"Yeah, and Miku has as well, but she won't listen." I mutter.

That's when Luka approaches us.

"Hey." she said, "what are you talking about?"

Len and I exchange glances.

"Nothing." We reply in unison.

Luka folds her arms, knowing that we were not doing "nothing", but unaware of the fact we were discussing her problem.

"I see." she mutters.

"Anyway, where's Miku? She's usually out by now." I say quickly, changing the subject.

Luka and Len look around.

"I don't know." Luka shrugged.

"She's not around here anywhere." Len said. I roll my eyes at him.

"Well aren't you a genius. I have eyes, Len, and I know how to use them." I say, nudging him.

Len nudged me back.

"Well, sorry!" He mumbled.

Luka seems to be in a world of her own, staring thoughtfully at the ground. I sigh and look towards the school, to see Miku running up to us.

She reaches us, gasping for air.

"Sorry - I'm - late!" she apologises.

"Where have you been?!" I ask, pulling on one of her long pigtails.

"Hey! I said I'm sorry!" she whimpered. I sigh.

"That doesn't answer my question." I say.

Miku crosses her arms, eyeing me.

"I just went to the library to get some books." she explained.

"Are we going to stand her forever, or are we going to go home?" Len asked impatiently.
