*alarm clock sound*
I immediately wake up and turn off the alarm on my phone, and an irritated moan fills the room from the other side."Seriously Kayla? It's like 7 AM"
"Yup" I state as I jump out of bed. My training clothes are nicely piled up next to the bed and I quickly put them on, considering I have to be back before 8. "I'm going out for a run, I'll be back soon"
"Okay, just don't get hit by a bus" Crystal mutters and I grin as I make my way out of the small room. I haven't really been outside of it since I walked in for the first time yesterday. I guess I was too tired after the many hours sitting in the car to get here.
Outside of the main building rests a thick fog, keeping me from finding a park or something to run through. I want to find a good running round to use as often as I can during my time here, and a park would be nice. Finally, after I've been looking for a map for a few minutes, I find a sign-slash-map behind an outside toilet. It's almost like it's hidden there just to bug me or something.
I roll my eyes and notice that they have a running round marked out on the map, so I grab my phone and take a picture of the map. All I have to do now is follow the marking and I won't have to do it all myself. What a relief!
I open the photo on my phone and start running among the trail. It leads through a central park in the middle of the city, and huge buildings are surrounding it. The park is filled with trees, bushes and flowers and I can barely believe the beauty around here.
When I reach the campus again, I grab my phone to check what time it is. 7:45 AM. I inhale a deep breath and walk with long steps through the entrance, up the stairs and all the way to my dorm room. All I can hear is laughter and music coming from in there and as I open the door, I spot Crystal sitting on her bed with two boys. Their eyes are locked on their iPhone screens, but that's not what I notice. I recognize one of them. It's the rude guy who leant towards the wall yesterday when I arrived.
"Oh, hey Kayla! This is Trevor and Shane" she says as she notices that I'm unconsciously staring at them, or, I'm only staring at the guy named Shane.
"Oh yeah, me and Shane already met" I say with an irritated undertone. "Yesterday"
"You did?" she turns to Shane who looks straight into my eyes.
"... Yup"
"... Uhm, yeah. So I'm just going to go take a shower, okay?" I say to Crystal. The atmosphere in the room is awkwardly tense and I'm not in the mood for talking to that Shane boy anymore. I quickly grab my shower bag and phone and walk out of the room.
When I'm back, none of them is to be seen. I shrug and start brushing my long, dark hair. It's got natural curls so I mostly don't really do anything with it besides brush it through. When it's almost completely dry I put on a couple of layers with mascara on my long, naturally curled lashes. Then I take a look at myself in the mirror, and happily grab my bag. I'm finally about to begin my first day at the school of my dreams.
