Wendy's POV

"May nararamdaman ka bang masakit or something?" Simon asked me once again. Bakas pa rin sa mukha niya ang pag-woworry kahit isang oras na ang nakalipas matapos ang incident.

I shook my head. "I'm fine now, don't worry."

Simon risked his life just to saved me, utang ko sa kanya ang buhay ko. I wouldn't be here breathing kung hindi dahil sa kanya.

Faulty wiring of outlets ang pinagmulan ng sunog ayon sa investigation na naganap as soon as the fire went out. Apparently, matagal na pa lang hindi nami-maintenance ang org room kaya hindi agad nabigyan ng pansin ang mga issues sa electricity bago pa ito mag-cause ng sunog.

May dumating din na ambulance for me and Simon, but I insist na wala akong injury o kakaibang nararamdaman kaya hindi na ako dinala sa hospital after my initial checkup.

Halos himatayin si Kiefer when he came back from the restaurant earlier. The president apologized to me so many times for bringing the key with him and leaving me behind. I told him it was an accident kaya hindi dapat siya mag-sorry dahil wala naman may gusto ng nangyari.

Halos text messages lang mula sa Teatro Club ang laman ng notifications ko, they were all asking me kung nasa ligtas na ba ako na lagay. Pupuntahan daw sana nila ako pero pinalabas silang lahat ng campus nung tumunog ang fire alarm. Moments after, nag-declare na ang mga college deans na suspended na ang lahat ng klase for this day kaya hindi na ulit nagpapapasok ang mga guard. I just sent a short message sa group chat para hindi na sila mag-worry and that I will see them all tomorrow.

Sandro came too, but he was acting weird the whole time. Hindi pa niya ako kinakausap nang maayos simula kanina. He went outside during my checkup pero hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin siya bumabalik. Si Simon lang ang kasama ko ngayon sa loob ng Southmoor clinic.

"Nasaan si Sandro?" I asked Simon.

"He's outside the clinic."

Tatayo na sana ako para puntahan si Sandro pero pinigilan ako ni Simon. "Where are you going? Are you sure you are okay? Hindi pa tapos ang checkup mo."

I gave him a smile. "Babalik din ako, I just need to use the bathroom."

He finally let go of my hand after I said that. I dragged myself outside and closed the door behind me.

"Wendy..." Sandro uttered. He flinched when he saw me.

Nakatayo lang siya sa tabi ng pinto, mukhang kanina pa siya nandito. "Bakit hindi ka pumasok sa loob?"

Hindi niya sinagot ang tanong ko. Tinignan niya ako mula ulo hanggang paa pero agad din niyang iniwas ang tingin niya. "What did the doctor say?"

"Are you avoiding me, Sandro?"

He won't even look me in the eye. "I'm sorry."

"Bakit ka nag-sosorry?"

He lowered down his head. "For not answering your calls...you could have died because of me."

I let out a sigh. "No, you don't have to be sorry..."

"I could have saved you if only I didn't put my phone on silent mode. It's all my fault."

I held his cheek, it's my first time seeing him like this. Sandro held me in his arms, he was hugging me really tight as if I was going to run away.

We stayed in that position for a solid minute, he didn't even say anything to me. We both remained so quiet that I could feel his heart beating. I was taken aback when he buried his face on my shoulder and started sniffing.
