"You want me to what?!" Max yelled,

"Max you're the only one who can enter the security gate without alerting Craig," Bek said, sitting at the head of the table with, Max, Demi, Calvin, Will and I, along the lengths,

"Wait, why?" Will asked, confused,

Max just looked at him, and Will looked back and still didn't get it,

"Why is he looking at me like that?" Will asked me in a whisper,

"Will, his eyes"

"What about his-" He began, but then understood, "Holy shit!" he said getting up, and moving away,

"Why is he even in here?" Max says with a sigh,

"Because he needs to know the basics of the plan, after all, he is going to be in the team"

"He's going to be in our team?" Demi asked, pointing at the wide eyed Will, still standing,

I yanked his elbow making him sit back down before Bek said, "We need an extra man. Will, can you shoot a gun?"

"Yes" He said slowly,

"Then he's qualified"

"What about Michael and Rodriguez and the others?" Max continued,

"What about them?"

"Can't they handle it? After all they've been here longer"

"Craig knows their faces, if we make Will look like your prisoner, they'll let you enter the area, and then you just have to find a way to let us in from the inside"

"But that's the thing! I'm a fugitive! They know my face!"

"that's where you're wrong. You see, Max, when they caught you, you were brought back to Base 7, here in New York, they caught Alex in Manhattan and they didn't make it to New York's base, so no one in Base 7 knows she exists,"

"And your point is?"

"Well, you know how mutants are controlled? Well, they are given the information they are fed from the computers and since Craig drove from Washington to Base 7 to interrogate you, your file wasn't public in the Washington database, but in Base 7, so only that Base knows you're a fugitive, so even though Craig knows your face, the mutants in the Washington home base don't"

After Bek said this, then it was quiet, as everyone tried to understand what he had just said,

"I'm lost" Will said, breaking the silence,

"You know what? You're all just tired, Go get some rest, we'll continue this conversation tomorrow," Bek said getting up from the chair with a creak, "Dismissed"

I went upstairs and Will caught up with me, "So, what do you wanna do?"

"Sleep," I replied with a small yawn,

"Oh come on, we're still young, we can sleep when we're dead"

"Which might be soon if we go through with this plan"

"Well if we're gonna die young, let's make the most of it"

"How old are you anyways?" I ask making it to the landing,

"Twenty"

"I'm eighteen. I turn nineteen on May sixth"

"Alex"

"yeah?"

"Happy Birthday"

"Wait, what?"

"Today is May sixth"

"How do you know?"

"I had a calendar on the wall, helped me keep track of the date"

"Wow, I didn't even know my own birthday...or the date"

"It's okay, there's a freaking apocalypse, the date isn't important, it just made me feel normal for some odd reason"

"thanks for the reminder"

"So what do you want to do to celebrate," he said as we walked slowly down the hallway,

"Sleep"

"Seriously?"

"I'm just kidding," I said with a laugh, "I don't know, there's nothing to do here"

"come on, there's got to be something"

"Well, there is this one thing"
