CHAPTER 34

The clinic was big and had many rooms. Everyone was hurriedly making their way downstairs but I managed to speed-walk over to Cal. "What's going on?" I asked

"Attending a meeting"

"A meeting?"

"Yeah, trying to figure out our next move," he said rushing down the steps as I tried to catch up,

"Like attack strategy?"

"Basically"

We walked into the well lit room. The light came from a window that was probably tinted from the outside. 'Bek' was standing at the front next to a small white board, "These following weeks, we are going to prepare for the real deal, this week is all about training. We need to get into Washington in exactly sixty-two days. That's when we attack"

"What attack?" I whispered to Cal, which was apparently loud enough for Bek to over-hear,

"We're going to kill Craig and take down his system"

I kept quiet. I was happy. But I was also very scared. It's like twenty against a million. We had no chance.

"Now everyone get back to work, Cal, you too. Take Alex with you, make sure the north wing is clear. Demi, Logan, you know what to do. Michael and Rodriguez, this time, bring one in...alive"

"One what?" I couldn't help but ask,

"One of those mindless idiots. We need them"

"But shouldn't I go with them? I mean, they're new and I know how to handle them just as much as th-" Demi began, but was cut off by Bek, 

"No Demi, today you're on clearance duty, your job requires you to kill on sight. We need your accuracy,"

"What do I do?" I asked putting my hand up like I was in a classroom,

"Calvin will tell you. Okay everyone, head out!" and with that, everyone got up and moved out at once.

We walked into a storage room. In it were guns and weapons. Demi reloaded her belt and Logan sharpened his knife. Everyone except me, knew what was going on and what they were doing,

"Weapon of choice?" Logan asks,

"Uh, shotgun?" This seemed to make everyone laugh, what?

"Yeah, right, 'shotgun'" he mocked laughing,

He tossed me a large gun which I caught with difficulty, it was heavy, "The newest edition. It needs a partner. Don't hurt yourself, babe" Logan said with a wink as he put the knife in his boot

All the guys seemed ravenous. Like they hadn't seen a girl in years. I mean, there's Demi...if that counts. She was pretty and had a feminine physique under her unfitted clothes, but she seemed to be counted as one of 'the guys'.

It was time to head out and I was petrified. They were human, but I didn't know these people and they could be dangerous.
