CHAPTER 53

I was about to walk out with everyone when Will grabbed me back in, "Alex, we knew each other"

"I am sceptical, but it is possible"

"Last night I remembered things. I didn't tell you because I thought it was just a dream. It was at the school dance, do you remember it?"

"barely"

"That was the first time we talked"

I thought hard but nothing came to me, "I can't remember. I only recognised your tattoo, and from the dream"

"what else can you remember, when the war was going on?"

I thought again, "I remember going to school and practicing the bomb drill, I remember Stacy Miller cheating on the final, I remember the science teacher asking Tyler to explain reproduction, I remember..." and then I stopped, remembering someone. Someone who played football, someone who used to wait outside my homeroom early every morning to say 'hi', someone who used to come by my house and crawl through my bedroom window. It all came back to me, "You were my highschool boyfriend" I laughed at the thought,

"Wow, guess the amnesia wore off"

"But what else do you think we forgot?" I say digging deep into my mind for missing links,

"I don't know, guess we'll just have to wait and see"

We all met on the roof, where we planned our scheme.

"So, so far it's just the four of us. We need more. But we can't ask the people who follow Bek. We need to be careful and make sure Bek doesn't find out. And we need transport"

I suddenly remembered something and stood up quickly, "Come with me"

We walked down to where Will and I shot the mutants. The two jeeps were still there,

"Well that's convenient," Demi says opening the driver's seat door and sliding in. She looked for the keys in the overhead compartment and they just fell onto her lap, "Aha"

I went to the next car and the keys were in the same place. I put it into the ignition and the car woke up with a roar. Will got in next to me and Max got in with Demi. I stuck my head out the window and signalled them to follow me. I drove to the building behind the clinic and stopped. It was an old office building and it had a good hidden parking lot. We parked the cars and got down. I slid the key into my pocket and shut the door.

"So who do you think will join us?"

"Not Cal that's for sure" Demi says getting down too, "He's Bek's son, they're inseparable"

"What about Logan?"

"That's possible"

"What about Michael?" Demi asks,

"No. I'll kill him myself" Max says glancing at me,

"Let's just start with Logan," I say heading towards the entrance of the parking lot slowly, walking backwards so I was still facing them.
