"Just in time, (Y/N)," Duncan says. "We've got a donation for you."
"Oh yeah?" you say, keeping a straight face. "Read it out for me."
"If you had to date one person from the office, who'd you date? And be careful here," Duncan adds.
You frown. "What sort of question is that?"
"Well, Pat paid five bucks for it to be answered. Go on," Duncan says. "Who?"
Secretly, of course, you know exactly what the answer is - but you don't want to encourage the fans further, after the donations you just heard.
"Smith's hot," you say doubtfully.
Lewis seems to have stayed silent all throughout this until now. "Smith is very hot," he confirms. "And he's your age, too."
"What, is that your final answer?" Duncan says. "Smith?"
You shrug. "He's single, right? Well, actually, I don't really know. I don't know if I want a boyfriend who's going to be yelling expletives at the top of his voice at me all the time, you know."
"Good point," Lewis and Duncan agree at the same time.
"Jinx," Lewis mutters.
"How about, then..."
You just happen to glance over at the monitor then, and you notice the chat is spamming LEWIS at you. You attempt to hide your blush by leaning over closer to the computer, away from the cameras, hoping Duncan and Lewis won't notice what they're saying.
But of course, someone does.
"Looks like chat's answered for you," Duncan chuckles, leaning back.
You pretend to look over at the monitor, surprised. "What, old grumpy Brexit Lew Lew? No way!" you laugh.
Lewis straightens up in his seat, brushing a strand of hair over his forehead, like he usually does when he's surprised, or upset, or grumpy, or - well, anything, really.
"I'm not grumpy," he says a little weakly.
"Can't argue with old and Brexit though, can you?" Duncan teases.
"No," Lewis admits. "Anyway, I'm single. I won't shout expletives at the top of my voice at you. I make good tea."
"Hm," you say. "Maybe."
Sjin pops his head around the door. "What're we talking about?"
"We're live, Sjin," Duncan says pointedly.
"I know. What're they saying about Lewis?" Sjin's eyes meet yours for a split second, but then they return to Duncan's. And you're thankful that Sjin's on your side.
"Someone asked who (Y/N) would date from the office," Lewis says. "Apparently I'm too old and grumpy and Brexit-y."
"Can't argue with that," Sjin laughs. He turns to you again, stepping into view of the camera, in front of the green screen. "Well, how about an incredibly handsome nerdy beanie-wearing Sjinny boy, then?" he says, warm blue eyes fixating on yours.
You burst out laughing. "Nah," you say. "And don't you upset Erin, Sjin."
"I was just kidding around," he protests. "It's okay, I would never date you."
"Oh. Um, thanks," you say doubtfully.
"You're welcome. Well, anyway, what was your answer?"
"At the moment, Smith," you say.
"So what's Lewis got to do with it?"
"Chat says I should date Lewis," you say, feeling your cheeks tingle a little with heat.
