Ferrari - The Neighbourhood

I stroked Calum's chest softly, running my fingers over his scar and letting his hands run down my back.
"Did you know Luke liked me?"
"Sort of."
"I wasn't expecting it."
"He knew I liked you though."
"How?"
"He'd tease me or just ask me."
"Oh."
"Could you pass me a cigarette please?"
I lean over to the the bedside table and pass him a lighter and the smoke.
A knock comes on the door, and it opens slowly.
"Evie?" Joy asks.
I sit up out of Calum's arms.
"Yeah?"
"Could I speak with you for a moment please dear?"
"Of course."
I pull the blanket up from over me and step onto the cold floor. I walk out with Joy, leaving Calum to smoke his cigarette.
"Is everything okay Mrs Hood?"
"Yes, I just wanted to thank you."
I frown, "what for?" I chuckle.
"Calum just seems a whole lot better lately, I mean apart from the other two days but he's just...he's a better man when you're around."
I smile gratefully and bring her into a hug.
"I love your son, Joy, and I'd do anything for him."
All Joy does is smile and thank me once more, "you take care alright? You're a good girl Evie."

"Could I try it?" I ask Calum.
"The cigarette? No way."
"How come?"
"Because."
"Cos why?"
"It's not good for you."
"But you're smoking?"
"Because I have a death wish." He chuckles.
Calum sits with his legs crossed on the bed, and I was in the little space in the middle.
I watch as he sucks in on the cigarette, then grabbing my neck and pulling me in closer.
His lips almost attach to mine, but he blows the smoke into my mouth.
At first I didn't know what to do, so I just sucked in the smoke and then coughed violently.
He laughed and laughed at me, making me cough more.
"That's why I'm not letting you smoke."
"That was hot." I chuckle out.
