Chapter 36:

Luce’s P.O.V

“Ah help me. The chocolate lady is trying to fudging kill me!” I scream as I bolt down the hallway towards Caleb’s office. I run through the door without knocking and hide behind a rather shocked looking Caleb. “You have to hide me. The chocolate lady wants to fudging kill me” I say seriously and he raises an eyebrow at me. “Little slurpie. What have you done now?” he questions shaking his head. “I haven’t done anything. This is not my fault! The chocolate lady wants to kill your mate and your not taking me seriously” I say exasperated while feigning hurt. “It’s a little hard to take you seriously when your screaming about a chocolate lady” he says chuckling while trying to bring me from behind him to rest on his knee. But I resist. ‘No matter how tempting it is’ I thought as those naughty thoughts ran through my mind. ‘No. naughty Luce’ I scold myself mentally before shaking my head to clear the thoughts that were making my body heat. I then turn back to Caleb and the matter at hand. “No. I can’t move. She will find me if I move and she will fudging kill me!” I say seriously, ducking behind him some more. “Who will?” he questions and I just roll my eyes. ‘How can he not be understanding this! I’ve told him several times’  I thought shaking my head. “The chocolate lady!” I practically scream at him and he covers his ears slightly and winces which just causes me to chuckle. Because well serves him right for winding me up about a serious life or death matter! “I have never seen this chocolate lady you speak of” he says trying to be serious, but the grin that forms on those oh so lovely lips of his gives him away instantly. But before I even get to give him a response, in runs a chocolate covered very grumpy Mya. “Ah the chocolate lady has found me!” I scream and Caleb looks around from me in confusion, his eyes finally finding Mya in the doorway. I can tell when he has because I hear him chuckle before he shakes his head. 

“Luce. What did you do to poor Mya?” he questions turning to face me once more. I look at him in shock. “What makes you think I had anything to do with this?” I question and before he can answer Mya butts in. “Oh I don’t know Luce. Maybe it’s the fact that your running from me after covering me in god damn chocolate sauce!” she says shaking her head in shame at me. I just ignore her. She has no evidence I did anything. “You know it will never stand up in court” I say simply. “Who said anything about court” Caleb questions. “I’m just saying” I say simply shrugging. “Give her to me” Mya says motioning for Caleb to hand me over. “And if I did, what would happen?” he questions and Mya grins. “Nothing much. Just want to give her a hug” she says with a mischievous grin on her face. I gulp. “You can’t be seriously considering handing me over to her. I haven’t done anything!” I say desperately. “Hmm strange. It looks to me like you have” he says pointing at a very chocolate covered Mya. “I don’t know what your talking about” I say feigning innocence. “You never do little slurpie. Though I can’t believe you’ve been back a week, three of the days in which you spent resting and recovering after your ordeal and your already wreaking havoc” he says shaking his head. “I am not wreaking havoc” I say pouting. They both just look at me. “What. I’m not. I’m creating entertainment” I say simply, like it’s the most normal answer in the world. Caleb chuckles. “Only you would have an answer to that” he says ruffling my hair. “Hey! I ain’t no dog!” I say moving my head away. “On the contrary little slurpie. I think you will find you do indeed turn into an oversized dog” he says chuckling. I just scowl at him. “As much as I’m loving the little dispute between the two of you, I want Luce so I can seek my revenge” Mya says in a slightly sinister tone that makes me a little worried and it cuts into my scowling moment with Caleb. I look at Caleb with wide eyes as I watch him grin. “Don’t you fudging dare!” I scream knowing what he’s going to do. “Oh but little slurpie. You have to learn you can’t hide from the havoc you wreak” he says chuckling, before he picks me up bridal style while I thrash in his arms. “Put me down!” I scream while he just chuckles. “With pleasure” he says grinning, placing me right in front of Mya, who’s arms wrap around me, the moment Caleb releases me.
