Chapter 38:

Jax’s P.O.V

I was chained to a fucking tree. Chained. I was beyond pissed and the smirk that was on Kaiden’s face was not even slightly helping. It just helped me create murderous thoughts that were aimed directly at him. I scowled at Kaiden and he just smirked more. Clearly finding this situation highly amusing. ‘He would. He isn’t the one fucking chained to a tree while the supposed Alpha and Luna say goodbye to the slut and her friends or should I say fuck buddies’ I thought bitterly as the rage built and built in my body. “The Alpha and Luna are here” Kaiden says, the smirk never wavering from his face. ‘Oh how I would love to wipe that fucking smirk off his face’ I thought as my I felt my body tremble from the rage. “Jax. I have a gift for you.” Damon says grinning as he came towards me. I snarled at him, not giving a fuck that he’s supposed to be my Alpha. He was no Alpha in my eyes. I lost all respect for him when he sided with that slut. Damon just ignored my snarls and continued to approach, pulling something that looked like… A collar. A fucking collar! Seriously. He was not putting that thing on me. But being stuck in these chains meant I couldn’t really fight him off. So instead I just snarled and snapped at him as he approached and fastened the collar around my neck, grinning as he did so. ‘Do I look like a fucking dog’ I thought in rage as the collar felt tight around my neck. “The collar is to make sure you don’t escape when we are travelling back to the pack house in wolf form” Damon explained and I couldn’t help but laugh. ‘How the fuck does he think a collar will prevent me running off?’ I thought as I watched him. He seemed mightily impressed with himself. When really I just thought he was stupid. I mean seriously, a collar? It’s hardly threatening. ‘Hell he might even have a lead with it’ I thought sarcastically. “You honestly think a stupid fucking collar will prevent me escaping?” I spat at him. He chuckled. Like actually chuckled. “I do.” he says simply and it was my turn to laugh. “You really are stupid then” I say and he still chuckles. Which only serves to annoy me. I mean I was insulting him here and he really wasn’t bothered. I looked at Mya and she was grinning too. “Can I tell him?” she asks Damon excitedly and I can’t help but wonder what in god’s name has her so excited.

I watch as he grins and kisses her softly and I try not to vomit in my mouth. “Of course you can babe” he says grinning. I watch as Mya’s eyes light up like a child’s would at Christmas. Before she turns to me. “The collar we have placed around your neck…” she begins and I just glare at her. Hating how she’s dragging this out when all I want is for her to get on with it. That way I can be unchained and I can leave. I’d even contemplated running to the pack house with them and grabbing Molly and running. I’d then dismissed the idea. It was too risky and honestly I didn’t care about her that much to risk that much. She was just a good fuck really if I’m honest. She dealt with all my needs without complaint. So she’s exactly what every guy dreams of. Well if your not obsessed with mates that is. I felt a slap to my face and I growled. Looking up I spotted Kaiden grinning at me. Meaning it was him that had just slapped my face. “What the fuck!” I spat. “Well if you had been listening to your Luna I wouldn’t have slapped you” Kaiden said with a grin. I just growled again. Hating how much he was fucking enjoying this. “Fine. I’m listening” I growled. “So you should be” Kaiden said simply, back up slightly and leaning against another tree. The smirk still on his face. Still tempting me to wipe it off as soon as possible. “As I was saying” Mya began and I turned my attention to her. Because she clearly demanded the attention. “The collar that is around your neck, isn’t just a normal collar” she says and I look at her, still glaring slightly. But admittedly a little worried. ‘If it’s not a normal collar, then what the fuck is it!’ I thought wildly as I waited for Mya to continue. “Jax. The collar around your neck is a shock collar. You run off it will shock you. And it was especially made for werewolves. Therefore the shock will affect you” she said smugly and I snarled. ‘How could they do this to me. It was fucking inhumane!’ I thought, absolutely furious. “That is fucking inhumane!” I scream, voicing my seriously annoyed thoughts. “Its nothing you don’t deserve” she spat back, her calm face replaced with one of complete anger. One that almost mirrored my own. Almost. I watched as Damon’s arms wrapped around her waist and she calmed slightly at his touch. I just turned my head away from them. I didn’t want to fucking see that. “I told you. It’s so you can’t run away. Now we are going to unchain you and we are all going to shift and head home. You have been warned of the consequences should you stray from Kaiden’s side.” Damon says and I just growl. “Kaiden has the tool to shock you. So if I was you I’d do as you were told” Damon growled out. I said nothing. “Right Kaiden. Untie him then we shall shift and get out of here” Damon says before I feel the chains finally fall from my body. I watch as everyone shifts and I note how Kaiden remains beside me. I growl before shifting form myself and sadly following these sadistic bastards back to the pack house.
