Chapter 29:

Luce’s P.O.V

“Well that went well” I said sarcastically as we got out the car. “I don’t know what you mean little slurpie. It went swimmingly.” Caleb says chuckling. I just roll my eyes at him. “I have a bad feeling” I say, feeling a little anxious. “Why, what’s up little slurpie?” Caleb questioned, worry lining his perfect features. “I don’t know. It could just be nothing. Maybe I’m just a little un-nerved at how easily Jax ended up letting us leave. After nearly killing you because you marked me” I say uneasily and I feel Caleb wrap his arms tightly around me. His whole body calming mine down instantly. I loved that about him. He knew just what I needed when I needed it. “It will be okay little slurpie. We will protect you” he says and I nod. But I can’t help but worry. Jax was so high rate. There was no fudging way he was just suddenly going to lay down and accept I was leaving. No he had to be upto something. And that thought was what was worrying me. “Come on…as adorable as it looks when your face scrunches like that in worry, its not an emotion I wish you to feel. Everything will be fine” he whispers in my ear and I tremble slightly but nod and allow him to lead me into the house. ‘God I was a fudging mess! Pull yourself together woman!’ I chided myself as we walked into the house. “Abey I’m hungry” I whine as we enter the house and I notice he’s setting things up too cook. “Well I’m sorry, but you shall have to wait. I cannot magic the food cooked.” he states and I sigh. “It would be awesome if you could. Then you might actually be able to out awesome sauce me” I say chuckling. Abe just shakes his head. I giggle and lean over the counter, grabbing a handful of the cheese he’s grating. “Someone remove her from my kitchen before we have no food left!” Abe screams and I chuckle, while Abe grabs me and leads me out the kitchen. “I only had a little bit of cheese. I swear” I said innocently to Caleb as we went into the games room. “Sure little slurpie. Sure” he says chuckling. “Hey! You don’t believe me?” I say sulkily. “I never said that” he defends, his hands going up in surrender. I can’t help but chuckle before I kiss him, nibbling softly on his bottom lip as his mouth moves with mine. Which causes him to moan slightly and his arms to wrap around me tighter. I just chuckle as I move away out of his arms and wink at him before going to sit on the sofa between Nathanial and Alaric. Leaving a slightly sexually frustrated Caleb staring at me from the door. 

“You know it’s rude to stare” I tease and he just growls slightly. I can’t help but chuckle. “Sheesh Luce. What did you do to him. He looks like a frustrated man” Nathanial says looking over to Caleb who is still staring at me, lust in his eyes. “Me? Nothing” I say innocently which earns me a snort from Caleb and a ‘yeah right’ look from Nathanial. I just shrug. “Fine don’t believe me” I say simply, turning to see which game they’re playing. “OMG. You guys are fudging playing MARIOKART!! I want to play!” I scream, while bouncing up and down like a child. Nathanial just shakes his head at me chuckling. “And why should we let you play?” Alaric questions. Which surprises me momentarily, because well he doesn’t usually say much to me. I sit still for a moment and stroke my invisible beard in thought. Which only serves to make Alaric and Caleb chuckle. “Don’t laugh at my beard!” I threaten, which only causes them to laugh more. “It has magical thinking properties I will have you know!” I say causing all four of us to laugh hysterically. When we all manage to sober back up I just look at them and say “Because you guys love me?” I question and Nathanial chuckles. “Oh so because we love you, we should let you play our game?” Alaric questions and I nod enthusiastically. Because well it made sense to me. “That is some strange logic you have there Luce” Nathanial says chuckling. “Maybe. But you know your going to let me play” I say grinning while picking up a controller. Nathanial sighs, but adds me to the game all the same, and I giggle happily. ’Score one for Luce!’ I thought happily as we went to the character selection screen. “Dibs on YOSHI!”I scream. Because Yoshi is the most awesome sauce Mario kart character. “You can keep him. He’s shocking!” Alaric says laughing. I chuckle evilly. “We shall see” I say, my tone almost sinister. I see Alaric looking at me a little strange. I just smile sweetly at him. He shakes his head and turns back to the game. I chuckle. ‘Let the games begin’ I thought happily.
