Chapter 13 - I wish I was exaggerating right now.

"Remember how you fell from the horse and cried like a girl?" Greg pointed at Cal, grinning like an idiot on crack. Right now, all of us sat under the tree in a circle, me with my legs straightened and swinging left and right, Al eating a cupcake, Em once again lying on Cal's legs who was eating an apple, Greg and Hugh just sitting there, grinning and Dave listening to us reminisce old days with a gentle smile on his face. How we ended this way, I didn't know, but one moment we were just sitting and the next, we were remembering our childhood.

"Oh shut up! It isn't true." Cal glared.

"We all know it is." Em said winking at him.

"You remember how you cried at Al's sleepover because you missed Mr. Ted?" Cal threw back Greg with a glint in his eyes and Greg growled low earning a laugh from all of us.

"Hey Steph!" Em called out to sitting up suddenly.

"Ouch!" And hitting Cal on the nose. We laughed harder now. She didn't pay him any attention.

"Remember how you cried an entire week when you an A in history?" She sniggered.

"Why would you cry after you get an A?" Hugh asked, his brows scrunched in confusion.

"Because she wanted an A+" Al cackled and everyone doubled up.

"Remember when.." Al began laughing, "you know when..." she laughed harder, "you don't remember?" She asked stopping short. Everyone was laughing so hard by now, I was sure someone would call a mental asylum soon. Stomachs hurting and tears running, I yet again had a wonderful memory to add to the ones beneath the tree.

It was minutes later when our laughter subsided. "Steph, we should get going. We gotta wake up early tomorrow morning." Cal said, his eyes shining with excitement.

"Why?" Greg asked popping a cherry in his mouth. I grinned broadly at him. After weeks of asking and asking and asking, dad finally said no. And I had only other option left. I actually wondered how I could forget asking Cal in the first place. Anyhoo, better late than never.

Finally, finally....

"We are going hiking!" I fist pumped the air and all of them chuckled.

"And you're right." I nodded at Cal getting up and dusting off my pants. "We should get going."

"Want me to drop you off?" Dave asked, standing up as well. My heart warmed a little.

And I had no clue why.

"I'm on it!" Greg jumped to his feet and dragged me away grabbing my hand, grinning back at the others before tripping on his open shoe laces.

Thank goodness I had let go of him a second ago.

"You sure you can balance the car?" Hugh called out.
