Chapter 27 - I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good.

A pair of hands covered my eyes the moment I was about to enter the classroom.

"Guess who's baaack?" A voice sang and I broke into a smile.

"Cal!" Pulling his hands apart I turned around to greet my best friend, whom I had missed so much these last few days. I hugged him tight, burying my face in his chest, smiling broadly at the familiar feeling.

"Someone's happy." He commented with a cheeky grin. I pulled back enough to grin back at him. "Duh."

He chuckled, mussing my hair and leading me in for the class. It was Home Ec. Meaning, the one we all shared. Not surprisingly, it went happily and cheerfully for all six of us. I did mess up the batter for pancakes. But cherry on the cake? Al put her foot in Devil's path, who was stalking towards me with a I-solemnly-swear-I'm-up-to-no-good look, making him stumble.... Right into the bowl.

I wish Dave was there as well.

The day was going too well so far.

It was history next.

And I couldn't have been happier.

So, after cleaning up, rather quickly if I must say so myself, I dashed towards the next class, effectively ignoring the smirk on Hugh's face only to crash headfirst into someone.

"Oww...." He exclaimed and I stepped back rubbing my forehead to see who it was.

"Hey... hi.. Sorry... umm didn't see you there." I mumbled quickly trying to recall his name in the back of my mind. "Matt! Really sorry... I was in a hur-" The math-club president whom I had interviewed a few days back cut me off with a wave of his hand.

"Oh it's alright." He smiled. "I just wanted to have a few minutes with Alicia. Is she inside?" He poked his head around me to peek in the class through the doorway. I too, turned, my head above his, witnessing like many other of our classmates a full blown argument between the only ones who could do that in the middle of the class, and I mean literally.

Al, Dylan and Stacie were saying something, more like yelling and none of the words could be understood. Somehow, my pancake batter had turned out to be more useful than I had imagined. And somehow, all three of them were covered in it.

Al started it all. And of course she did. Because only she can.

I shook my head, laughing softly and looked down. Matt was already looking up at me, his eyes wide.

"Maybe this isn't a good time." He said slowly.

"Yeah." I agreed and we pulled our heads back outside.

"So.." He started falling into steps with me as the first bell rang. I could still hear the commotion behind me which I chose to ignore. I was never the one for drama. "Are you done with that history assignment we are supposed to give it to that old hag now?"

My mouth dropped open for two reasons.

Firstly, he called Mrs.Young who wasn't quite young, an old hag. Seriously, I did not expect that from him.
