Chapter 31 - You are more annoying than Janice's laugh.

Me : When are you playing for me?

I waited for ten minutes for Dave's reply before getting up and ready for the day. I mean what could he be so busy doing to not reply at six in the morning? Ugh, boys.

I studied for some time before packing my bag and going down for breakfast; all the time checking my phone for his text.

"What are you smiling about?" Dad asked, turning a page of his newspaper.

"Am not." I said surprised.

"Yes you were. Who are you talking to?"

"No one." I shrugged. Well I wasn't. I would be talking to someone, only if that someone replied.

"Hmm... How well are you prepared for the exams?" He asked putting down the paper and picking up his coffee not once breaking the eye contact with me. I smiled up at him, shrugging and he nodded satisfied. Being my dad, it was his job to keep a check on how serious was I taking my studies. He never pushed me though, just enough to keep me on track. And I appreciated that. I felt like I had a kind of freedom and maybe that was why I managed to score good.

Al honked from the outside and I quickly left grabbing my sandwich yelling goodbye to my parents. She gave me a overly cheerful 'hi' the reason for which I had a pretty good hunch.

"Will I be right in assuming you two are official?" I asked getting in the passenger seat and keeping my sandwich on the dashboard.

"Thank you! I was starving." She said taking a big bite out of it. I didn't even notice her taking it.

"That was my breakfast." I sighed. Maybe I just have to get used to it.

"Don't worry. We'll get something for you from the takeout."

I checked my watch. "But there's no time for that. We'll miss the first lecture."

"Who said we were going for the first lecture anyway?" She asked, her perfectly arched raised. I slumped in my seat, knowing better than to argue and waste my breath. My phone buzzed in my pocket.

Dave : Never

I just remembered. The first class was history with Dave.

I shot Al an angry look.

And I'm gonna miss that because of this girl.

My mood couldn't get better even when we were wolfing down cheeseburgers and french fries sitting on the hood of her car beside the lake.

"When are you going to tell me?"

"What?" She shot me a surprised look.

"Reason for missing the class?"

"Oh yeah... that."

"Yep. That."

"Well..."

"It was a class with Dylan wasn't it?"

She looked even more surprised.

"Since when did you become Sherlock Holmes?"
