Chapter 15 - There was something really backward in the way she thought.

Callum

A constant beeping sound, in rhythm with my heart was the first sound I heard as I woke up. Following it was pain from my head, my hands, my legs, all in all, my entire body.

And then there was a sigh, peaceful, a very small one but enough to tell me it was her.

In a rush to see my girl, my eyes flew open to blinding white light that I groaned with pain. It was enough to send wherever I was to chaos. There was noises everywhere, I grimaced as it hurt my ears, but they were happy voices calling out my name. Her being one of them.

"Liv..." I got out, only a whisper, but she heard it alright. I knew she would. This was how things worked between us. In an instant, small hands wrapped around one of mine and I heard the beeping sound go wild. It confused me and I had to strain my head to finally understand where I was.

"Hear that Liv?" I asked opening my eyes slowly and finding my favorites ones leaning above me. It was only she who made my head focus and heart crazy.

"Yes, yes... are you alright?" She asked panicking, looking around for help. I chuckled.

"This is what you do to me." I grinned at her. Her eyes snapped to mine and then she blushed that deep red that I had begun to adore so much. I stared at her forgetting everything else. She looked so beautiful, so innocent, so breathtaking with her messed up hair and sparkling eyes and blushing face. She left me breathless and dazed, more than I already was.

"Oomph!" All breath left me as a tangle of dark blonde hair covered my face and a large body threw itself on me.

"Steph... can't... breathe." I choked. She got away real quick, scared.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry! Thank goodness you're alright Cal! I'm sorry I left you all alone! I-" I cut her off with a laugh and I was glad to see her smile. Slowly looking around I found Al dancing around in the hospital room not paying attention to anything else. Em stood looking around with half a smirk, half a smile.

"I think I should go tell Hugh and Dave you're awake." Steph said bringing my attention back to her. And I nodded.

"And dad too actually." Greg said turning around to leave. I wondered why.

Em was the last one to leave the room. She gave me smirk looking at Liv who sat holding my hand.

"Shut up." I mouthed, my ears turning red. She winked and left and we were alone for the first time. I looked at her to find her eyes already on mine.

"They never stop talking do they?" She asked with a small chuckle and I shook my head.

"How do you feel Cal? Tell me, are you really alright?" She asked, concern etched on her face. I smiled, nodding.

"Just a bit dizzy, but fine. Uh...Liv?" I hesitated to ask further. I had no idea why I fell, and just thinking about that moment, yeah it was scary as hell.
