Chapter 38 - A three tier, Harry Potter themed cake didn't look as appetizing as he did.
The hand holding the glass shook violently. I saw red as I watched that Cynthia get closer and closer to Dave. Their arms around each other made me want to put mine around her neck and squeeze. The glass broke in my hand diverting my attention from them. When I looked back up, they were gone. I was alone. The glass had vanished. I turned and twisted but I couldn't see anything. It was dark wherever I was, but a soft breeze was blowing, caressing me. Suddenly I felt something on my cheeks, soft and warm and oh so wonderful.
Lips.
Dave's.
I knew it was him, of course I did.
A smile lifted the corners of my mouth but he was gone the moment I turned and light flooded the scene, blinding me. I took a step back, blinking hard before he caught me, pulling me into him. Strong arms surrounded me, holding me so close as if they wouldn't let go. Ever.
"Careful babes." He whispered against me, his warm breath welcome on my face.
Babes. I melted right then and there.
I looked up to meet the growing storm in his eyes, the waves churning and clashing as they stared at me, taking everything in.
"Where are we?" I asked and he smiled mischievously.
"Look for yourself."
And now that my eyes had adjusted to the brightness around I did exactly that and gasped. In fear.
"I don't know how to swim!" I hit his chest and he laughed. His voice rumbled, reverberating all around us and through me. Then he leaned forward, his face inches from mine.
"What am I here for?" He said, assuring me.
And without a warning he took a step back, pulled the hem of his shirt and the next second, Dave was standing shirtless in front of me in all his glory.
A three tier, Harry potter themed, chocolate flavored cake wouldn't look as appetizing as he did at that moment.
The stupid me stood there, gaping, mouth hanging open as he took the plunge, spraying me with water.
I didn't care.
Even you wouldn't if you got to see what I did at that time.
Shirtless Dave.
Shirtless Dave swimming.
He stopped when he saw I hadn't followed. He raised an eyebrow in question.
"I told you I don't know how to swim." I said flatly, trying and failing to keep my eyes from roaming all over his six pack abs. The lighting in the room was doing a hell of a job making him shine like that.
