Chapter 12 - Someone call 911, I'm about to have a cardiac arrest
Being captain sucked.
Well, no. Actually it didn't. But sometimes a person might, might get the feeling to be free from all the responsibilities. Coach has been extra hard on us now. We had won the last match, but only barely. He didn't want a repeat of it next time.
"Callum," he had said, "I believe in you son, but we want others to too. College scouts would be there in the next game and I want each one of you to give your best. You are the captain, make sure you team understands this." He patted my shoulder and left. I didn't have to though. Luckily enough, we had a great team. Touchwood. Everyone wanted to prove that we win because we deserve.
But after all that hardwork, everyone could go home and rest. Everyone but me. Coach asked me to stay late, see to it everything was back in it's place and sit with him to strategize the next game.
I played the ball for a bit after each person had left. I practiced on my moves, trying out new things when I heard it. A small sigh; and I knew who it was. I turned towards the direction the sound came from.
There she was, clad in a white dress that reached her knees and hugged her figure in all the right places; sitting on the bleachers, with a smile playing on her lips.
I died a little when I saw her looking at me, through me, with those chocolate orbs she had for eyes.
I didn't know how and when, but suddenly I was in front of her. Everything else around was a blur.
"Hey." She breathed softly, tugging at my heart strings and playing with them as her eyes roamed my face and sweat clad figure.
"Hey." I whispered just as slowly, taking her in. She turned red under my gaze, making my breath falter.
"I brought you a happy meal." She smiled bringing the paper bag to my eye level and I sat beside her.
"How did you know I was here?" My eyes never left her face. Now that I had missed so many years of looking at her, I wasn't going to miss any more seconds of it. She shrugged and smiled brightly. So brightly that I was dazed.
"Go on. Eat." She ordered. I didn't want to. It meant taking my eyes off of her.
Her gaze turned stern. She looked like an angry kitten, cliche comparison yes, but true nonetheless.
"Yes ma'am." I mocked a salute and she burst out laughing. It was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard. No girl before ever made me so crazy as this one did. As Olivia did.

The diner's bell chimed softly as Dave and I made our way inside. I suggested Dave to go to his house. We could use his library and then realized what difference would it make. But there was a big reason I didn't want to come here.
"It's not a good idea, Dave." I had said freaking out a bit.
"Why do you think so?" He had asked as we neared his car. Al was still grounded. It wouldn't have been so bad if I had her to accompany us.
"I know so." I pressed.
"Why though?" He tilted his head to the side, searching my face.
