liana's pov
Yesterday after he had left our date early, Luke promised that he would text me later, but he never did. This was the first time Luke hadn't kept a promise to me. So first, he was distancing himself and acting weird around me, then he leaves our date early, then doesn't keep a promise or text me back. I may not have much relationship experience, but I still knew these signs. There was no doubt he was planning on breaking up with me. The thought of it made my stomach twist. I had no idea what could have been wrong that would've made him want that, but I should've known that he was too out of my league to stay with me for too long.
I was at lunch now, voicing my concerns to my friends.
"So you really think he's going to break up with you?" Nella asked with concern and disappointment in her voice.
"I can't think of any other explanation at this point!" I said, throwing my arms up in an exaggerated shrug pose.
"Then you know what you have to do, right?" Trina asked.
"No. What?"
"Break up with him first! Before he can dump you!" She suggested.
"Trina, isn't that a little hassty?" Lynnie said, pronouncing the word hasty wrong.
"Do you mean hasty?" Nella asked.
"Wait it's pronounced like that?" Lynnie asked in shock.
"Um yeah." She stated with a concerned look on her face. Lynnie was known to mispronounce words though, so none of us were that shocked.
"Ok, well back on topic, I don't think that's a good idea either." Kennedy said. "What if you break up with him just to spare yourself from being dumped but you both end up heartbroken because he wasn't actually going to break up with you in the first place?"
I sighed loudly in frustration. I was starting to get really upset. I had already cried a little last night just thinking about it. "I don't know what to do, guys!" I said angrily.
"You do you." Nella stated with a shrug.
"Ok, Nell. That doesn't really help here."
"Sorry." She said as she sipped her ice tea. "I feel really bad I just don't know how to help. I have enough problems in my own love life right now." She sighed.
"What now? Ashton?" Izzy asked.
"Yeah. It's complicated." The platinum blonde girl said with a huff. Nella had actually told me about the situation finally. Nella really really liked Ashton, and he seemed to like her a lot too. The only problem was that Ashton was stuck with his girlfriend Bianca for some family and financial reasons and he wasn't willing to cheat on her, even if him and Bianca were barely interested in each other.
Suddenly, Lauren came into our conversation. She seemed to have been in a daze while we were talking just now. Probably thinking about cacti or Michael Bublé.
"Wait, were you just talking about Luke acting weird and not answering your texts?"
"Uh yeah." I stated plainly.
"Because I had Chem with him earlier and he was my partner. He had long sleeves on but he had to roll them up to work with the experiment, and" she paused dramatically. "I saw something." Lauren said menacingly.
"What? Saw what?" I queried.
"He had a big cut along the inside of his elbow. It looked pretty new. I was surprised he didn't have a bandage or gauze on it. Hopefully it doesn't get infected." She told me.
