I was laying in bed on my phone around 12:30 am when I get a text from Ashton.
"I found Luke. Come to city general emergency room ASAP"
Oh my God. ER? What the hell could've happened now? I got up as fast as possible and ran downstairs, not even thinking. I then realized that my parents were both sleeping so in case they found that I wasn't home, I sent Karena a text as I walked out saying "sorry Lukes at ER be back soon"
I'm sure she'd understand. It's Luke. And he's at the frickin ER.I drove anxiously there, trying not to speed, but probably doing it anyways. Luckily I never got pulled over and even if I did I wouldn't have to lie about it being a medical emergency. My heart raced and I felt nauseous the entire way there. I hoped he wasn't fatally hurt.
I finally got to the Emergency Room and found a parking spot. I sped walked from the car to the building. It was extremely warm for a spring night. It was also as humid as hell. It was like I could feel the sticky air resting on every inch of my skin as I walked in, almost as if the air knew I was upset and was comforting me with its large hands of humidity. But all it felt like to me was that it was slowing me down. I finally walked into the brightly lit, white waiting room. There was someone at the desk currently so I had to wait in line. The whole time I waiting I was anxiously tapping my foot and biting my lip. Once it was eventually my turn at the desk I said "Hi I'm here to see Luke Hemmings."
The large, dark woman checked the names on her sheet and then said, "Okay, honey, you're gonna go right through those doors, take the first left, go a little down the hall and it'll be the 3rd room on your right."
"Ok thanks." I mumbled quickly and stormed away. I repeated the directions over and again in my head on my way so I wouldn't get messed up. I took the first left, now I just had to find his room. Okay, third room on the right. There it was. I fiercely bursted through the white curtains that were closing off the room from the hallway, and there he was. Luke, lying in the bed in this tiny room, surrounded by blank white walls that blinded me, some doctors, and Ashton. I would've said something to him immediately, but since the doctors were there I decided to stay quiet until they left. He looked away from the doctors momentarily and looked in my eyes. The emotions on his face seemed like a mix of thankfulness, fear, and/or regret. Then the doctors finally finished their lecture, or whatever it was, and left the room. I wasn't even sure what they were saying to him. I was too freaked out and worried to listen. All I heard was, "Ok I'll let you rest and see your friends for a bit." As they walked out.
"Luke, what in Hell did you do?" I almost yelled.
"Hey, chill." Ashton said, putting his hand up.
Luke closed his eyes for a second and then looked at Ashton to say, "It's okay. I deserve it."
As I was standing there staring at Luke, I suddenly and almost randomly started to cry.
Luke looked at me sympathetically and painfully. "Liana, I'm so sorry."
"What's happening? Can you please tell me now?" I sobbed. Tears were starting to come to his eyes as well.
"Not right now. I'm so sorry. If the doctors heard would really happened they would want to send me to a psychiatrist and diagnose me with schizophrenia or something. I was afraid you might think something like that too." He said, looking disappointed in himself.
