luke's pov
Liana and I had made it through a creepy visit from Vanessa and now were at Ashton's uncle's garage to pack my car with ghost hunting supplies.
"So, ya got a vengeful spirit you're dealing with?" Asked Joe.
"Yep." I replied.
"Ya ready to burn the bones?"
"Can't. She was cremated."
"Ah, so ya know what item ya gotta burn?" He inquired.
"Yep." I said. "All set. Let's hope it works."
"Okay. Good luck, my boy."
"Thanks."
Then, I stocked up my trunk, and we were off. Next stop, V's sister's house. Luckily, I knew for a fact she kept all of Vanessa's things in her unlocked shed in her backyard. Clearly not concerned about anyone stealing a dead girl's mementos apparently. I doubt she'd even check it frequently and notice that the necklace would be gone. Vanessa's family weren't very sentimental or responsible people.
"What if she's home? Or what if neighbors see us?" Liana asked.
"We'll be fine. Karla works all the time and her house is buried deep in the woods with no watchful neighbors around." I explained.
"Ok good. Let's get this shit done." Liana stated ambitiously.
We pulled in, got out, and headed towards the shed.
Walking into the shed was strange. One side of it was filled with yard and garden tools, and the other side had shelves of pictures, CD's, boxes, and other things from Vanessa. There was even a picture of me.
"Aww, why'd you lose the fringe? You should grow your hair out again." Liana said, admiring the old picture of me.
"Ha ha. Sure. If I grow out my hair now I'll have to keep it curly. I'm not gonna spend time straightening it again."
"You should definitely do it then." She said with an amused smirk.
I laughed and nodded.
I saw a dark blue, sparkly jewelry box so I opened it. "Nice! Here's the locket!" I exclaimed.
"Okay, what do we do now then? Should we summon her here or go back to your house?" Liana asked.
"We can do it here, there's an empty barn on the other size of the yard and Karla shouldn't be back for at least 3 hours so let's get on it." I said.
"Okay. I'll go grab the iron rods, the rock salt, and the incantation book.
"Got it."

I met up with Luke in the barn. I had the summoning supplies and he had the necklace, the kerosene and matches.
"Okay, first we have to make a complete circle of the rock salt on the ground. That should trap her in." Luke said.
I nodded and poured the salt. Luke set a picture of Vanessa in the center and then I handed him the incantation book.
We both held iron rods for in case Vanessa would escape the salt ring, we could fight her off or weaken her with those.
Luke started to recite something strange and Latin from the book and fog started to conjure in the salt ring. Within a few minutes, a transparent apparition of Vanessa was standing there. It was pretty freaky and I couldn't even imagine what Luke felt seeing her there again, but I took a deep breath and calmed down.
"Alright she's here now. Let's attempt to send her to wherever she belongs."
I nodded and handed Luke the salt.
We poured it on the necklace and then ignited it with the kerosene and matches. Hopefully, we wouldn't burn any of Karla's barn. Yikes.
As the necklace disintegrated, we saw Vanessa's apparition start to fade and flicker.
"Yes! It looks like it's working." I said.
As the last bit of the necklace disappeared, Vanessa's ghost started to scream and repeatedly say things like "Stop!" and "Luke needs punishment."
Finally, it looked like her spirit's image almost blew up, and then suddenly it was completely gone.
"Oh my god." I said, sighing in relief.
"We did it." Luke said in amazement.
"We did it! We killed a ghost!" I shouted, and hugged Luke tight.
